I love this post compared to the post at the top of this page. What a turnaround from just one season ago.

edit: and of course my post starts a new page

Really sick of this organization. 2005 was a miracle, but we are stuck in baseball (and basketball) hell of until JR dies. KW should've been fired, instead he's promoted. Ventura should be fired tonight, likely gets extended this offseason. Should have rebuilt, instead tried to "retool" because that's always fucking effective. Completely wasting 2 of the best starting pitchers in the MLB, but won't trade them to restock a pathetic farm system.

The whole organization is fucking garbage. JR is the new Bill Wirtz.

I don't hate the idea of retooling, but the issue I have is the half-assed "retool". The Jackson signing still pisses me off, just because I know they cheaped out on the better option in Cespedes. I don't know if Matt Wieters could have possibly been had, but could you imagine this team with Cespedes and Wieters instead of the garbage we've been fielding in those positions? If you want to retool around Sale, Q, and Abreu...then fucking do it. Give them some ACTUAL help.

Also, the fact that Ventura, Todd Steverson, and Kenny Williams have fucking jobs is BEYOND me. If I continuously failed to produce like any one of those guys have, I would have been out of a job years ago.

    Re: Chicago White Sox

What's sad is the White Sox may never have this opportunity again.

Sale & Quintana would easily be the top pitchers available on the market. Teams like Dodgers, Rangers, and Red Sox have the deep farms to get the deals done. The Red Sox and Cubs completely jacked up the value on the market. Red Sox gave up their top pitching prospect for a 27 year old mid rotation guy, and the Cubs gave up their #1 prospect (a shortstop) to get a rental reliever.

Trading Sale, Quintana, Shields, Robertson, Frazier, and maybe even Abreu (if he has any value) would completely overhaul the talent in this org top to bottom. You'd have depth and should be receiving a bunch of near MLB ready talent. I just don't know how they can pass this deadline up and stand pat. They can reverse years of neglect, and be set up for years to come. The alternative is just staying the course, and just wasting the prime of Sale & Quintana until they leave for compensation picks. Knowing Kenny they'll only trade one of them and half ass the rebuild.

lol knowing Kenny they'll trade for a 35 year old rental that was a 2 time All Star 7 years ago to make a shitty "push for that WC spot" and sell 100 more tickets per game.

I can't blame the Sox if they keep Q & Sale as they are both under control for 3 more years. They would be selling low on Abreu at this point and he should figure it out so he should stay as well. Realistically, players that should get them something decent are Melky, Fraze, and Robertson. Maybe Gonzalez or Duke gets you something and if a team wants Fat Albers, fuck it. JR probably thinks they've still got a chance though, just like fucking last season.

Good deal for both sides! You'll like Tilson. Bright future. He's from Winnetka too.

I'm a die-hard Cards fan for the record.

Still a youngin'. He's quick and has the potential to be an effective lead-off hitter. He had a shoulder injury early on in his professional career and his power has tailed off since.

I was a little disappointed they weren't able to move anyone. I don't mean Sale or Quintana but someone like Robertson. It is such a frustrating feeling being a White Sox fan because there is no real direction.

Hahn is doing work for sure. As frustrating as last season's inactivity was, they went from a pathetic farm system to the strongest in the league. They have acquired 7 top 100 prospects since December...that's fucking unbelievable. Boston DFA'ing Sandoval is definately a plus and should help drive the market for Frazier. I'm so fucking happy that we have a GM that doesn't exclude dealing with the Cubs for some stupid reason. Seems like a pretty smart move for the Cubs as well, especially considering that the Brewers were reportedly inquiring on Q, but they better hope their core can capitalize because the minors are decimated.

They should both get a lower end top 100 prospect. That being said, Boston cutting their losses on Sandoval could help bid up Frazier. Melky should get you organizational depth or take a chance on a high risk/high reward type. Not sure what Jones health is at the moment, but he would have some value, as does Kahnle. Too bad Burdi needs TJ, but hopefully he can return to form by 2020.

    I like this tweet:

With Blake Rutherford, the White Sox now have as many top-70 prospects (10, per MLB) as CLE, DET, MIN, KC, OAK, TEX, SEA and LAA combined.
