No, not on sale until Monday at 1:00 (I thought today). Considering rejoining the warehouse to guarantee the hotel we want. I swear I have had like 9 different accounts over the years there.

I was hard set against this trip the first go around but seeing how well they pulled it off convinced me to try it for the wife and I's anniversary trip.

Aside from the resort and resort food, which is better than portrayed, the concert experience is unlike anything I've ever been a part of.

You walk in to the concert, and there are sandcastles and mariachi bands and Aztecan dancers, etc. Since its all you can drink they will literally fill up any size cup with as much/little liquor as you want. There are servers walking around the entire show with drinks on trays, and you literally do not even need to move to continue getting hammered. Also, throughout the show, INSIDE THE SHOW, there is a full buffet in addition to several taco bars. They have a team of mexicans cleaning the porta potty's continuously and spraying your hands with sanitizer and handing out paper towels. Did I mention this is on the beach on the ocean?

Talk about it's a waste of money and overpriced all you want. If you don't care for D&T that's another thing. Realize though that a better concert experience does not exist. I couldn't imagine a better vacation in the middle of January

You completely nailed. I can't help but laugh at the people that act like it's a complete rip off. You can't compare it to any other run of the mill DMB destination.

The fact that it's on a beach in Mexico is two very good and the biggest reasons that this is the least attractive destination shows in the history of the band, for me.

    That's nonsense.

I can afford to pay $100 for a Snickers bar. Does that mean it's not overpriced at that price? No.

And I'm not saying this is overpriced; just that that's a dumb argument.

I just think it's funny how the camp that says it's expensive but worth every penny (read: something intangible that meets their personal expectation of worth) also says there's no better concert experience anywhere else, no other experience compares, etc (as in this is a fact... even though experiences are subjective and intangible to begin with).

The question of whether or not it's a rip off is if you want to spend your vacation to go see D&T. Clearly this is nicer than going to DMB anywhere in the states. However, this is overpriced compared to what you can get in the Caribbean if all you want is a week on the beach.

Correct, but a week on the beach is not going to be the same experience. The best part about the trip wasn't even the shows. It was pregming/poolside tailgating with a resort full of Dave fans. I've been to 4 or 5 all inclusives in the carribean. This one was my most pure fun, euphoria induced trip ever. I'm not going this year because we have other stuff going on but I hope to experience it again one day.

I get the "experience" thing. Shrinks always say it's better to spend money on life experiences than material things i.e. keeping up with the Jones's. 10 years from now are you still gonna love that car? Sorry I'm trying to talk myself into this.

Then I guess you have no reason to post in a thread dedicated to those shows.

To each his own then. I would be much more interested if this was a caravan and there was more than just D&T.

Once you log onto the site there's a Dave and Tim graphic in the middle of the screen that says "Click here for presale code".

    You're right

I think some of us are just stressing this is a completely unique venue experience (concert may be the wrong word) and can't be compared to other Dave and Tim or full band venues or experiences that have been done before.

No, it's a weekend-long wristband that gets you into the shows

Pulled the trigger on this since I can use a 5 year service award at work to pay for airfaire. Haven't been been able to convince any friends to tag along yet but I'll have a great time regardless.

I vaguely recall reading that dave and tim didn't stay at any of the major resorts affiliated with the event in february - I could be wrong on this, though. I stayed at barcelo maya palace.
