That is much much much more reasonably priced than what is on that website...

Right now, Avery New World Porter. This is a hop bomb of a porter that will sneak up on you with its 6.7% ABV. Get it while it's hot (or before they stop making it). It's like an IPA crossed with a porter. Seriously.

It's not that heavy. I mean, not compared to any self-respecting stouts or porters. Honestly, as far as that style (which I'm not a huge fan of), I think Smithwick's is one of the best.

The best beer that's not too heavy for someone to step out of the box with is Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. It can be found basically everywhere and it's damn good.

It honestly amazes me that people drink Bud Light and the like when eating a meal or something. I can understand getting trashed off of it or something but I can't imagine why anyone would voluntarily order one in a restaurant. Almost any restaurant that serves beer has at least Sam Adams or some local brew as well. Beats me why anyone would pay for something that's essentially water.

Harp, Yuengling, Lienenkugel (sp.?), and Blue Moon are my runners-up.

It's 20 time lighter than guinness. I've given it to many a friend who hate dark, thick beer and they have all enjoyed it for the most part.

I mean, sure it's lighter than Guinness, but it's not a stout. Guinness is probably the lightest of all stouts.

Scratch that. Left Hand's Milk Stout is the lightest stout. And probably worst stout that I've tasted. Epic fail in my opinion. When I poured it, it looked like coca-cola after the head disappeared.

How can anyone say that Guiness is heavy? It's the anti-heavy!! It's made with No2 or whatever, so the bubbles and carbonation are almost non-existent. You can literally CHUG Guiness, because you don't get any of the carbonation building up in your throat.

I mean, I can chug Guiness one heck of a lot better than I can chug Miller Lite.....

Really? I enjoyed it. Though it has been some time. Try their Blackjack Porter. It was good from what I remember. It has an Ace and Jack on the front.

It's probably because I only started drinking recently, and because I'm bi-coastal, but I haven't really settled down with anything yet. I'm very much still a sampler. If I see a good looking IPA, I'll go with that. I mean, Sam Adams is available on both coasts, and I'm usually good with that. Red Hook Brewery out of Portsmouth, NH has a lot of good stuff. Their IPA is probably what got me into IPAs.

Milk Stout really isn't that bad. A little too sweet and really chocolatey, but overall not horrible. Definitely drinkable. Left Hand makes mostly good stuff.

If you want a beer that's out of the ordinary, try their Ju Ju Ginger.

It's made with ginger, and it's interesting. I liked it.

I don't like Guiness because it is too coffee tasting for me. I don't like coffee.

Why would you want to chug Guiness? I have some friends that do it on occasion. It never ends well for them.

Why wouldn't it? It's really not a heavy beer. If someone was feeling sick, I'd recommend they stick to Guiness over Natty Light or something....

I usually chug it because I'm at a bar, and I'm ready to leave. The trick is, you chug your entire beer real quick. That way you can hurry out to your car and drive home before the alcohol hits you. If you get pulled over, just tell the officer that you were speeding because you wanted to be a safe driver.

And if he asks if you've been drinking tonight, just say yes and request the breathalizer right then and there. You don't want him to sit back in his car for 20 minutes....believe me.

I had it in my head it was in WA. I mean, I see Widmer everywhere here (I actually have some in my fridge right now), but no Red Hook. Odd. I'll have to look harder next time.

Pretty much anything Lienenkugel's brews, especially Honeyweiss. Also love Summer Shandy in the summer months, nothing better than grilling and drinking this refreshing beer. And Sunset Wheat is very good, like Blue Moon, but with a hint more citrus. Delicious.

As for non-regionals? Sam Adams Winter Ale is great, so is most any Hefeweizen out there, I especially like Paulaner. Fat Tire is good (may be regional?), but filling, same with Guinness. Also really like Harp and Smithwicks. And if I am going to drink a lot that night, Michelob Golden Draft Light is always a solid choice.

Ooh nice, good call I had forgotten about them for some unknown reason that is probably stupid. They are a good, good beer.

It's made with ginger, and it's interesting. I liked it.
I actually just tried a Ginger Beer (yes, one with alcohol) and I really liked it. I can't remember if it was the one you posted though.

Yes they are, pretty much everything they brew is pure brilliance. Except for Berryweiss, which is too sweet for me. But, if you do a mix with Honeyweiss (3/4) and Berryweiss (1/4) it is pretty good.

Also sad they discontinued Big Butt this winter, that was a really solid dark beer that wasn't too filling.
