It really does suck. Fonz seems to put forth an effort to make the set awesome to please his fans. But Dave will Dave.

Stefan is the most available and interactive with the fans (outside of Boyd's gatherings last year but that's something in itself lol) he's active on twitter, Instagram, snapchat and actually responds

So he obviously seems to take feedback to heart, both the negative and positive.

Yeah, and he's a pretty sensitive guy since he missed some of his childhood but I think he's handled the recent "criticism" well. I mean what kind of fans tweet that sort of bullshit at him?

I've had a few shows that I didn't like. Was I disappointed? Yes. Would I ever think tweeting those disappointments at Fonz would be a good idea compared to posting them on here? Nope.

It's really pretty simple.

You come off as a pompous, attention seeking jerk if you tweet that sort of stuff at Fonz (or ballplayers, whatever) especially when he's clearly a very attentive guy on social media who makes an effort. In addition, he's undisputedly upped his game musically over the past few years after taking courses.

I'm not saying don't give Fonz shit or criticize DMB. We're all free to do that...on the appropriate forum with the appropriate audience being engaged for a discussion. Guarantee you anyone who's "ripped" Fonz on Twitter wouldn't have the guts to do the same in person.
