*** Official Philadelphia D&T 2017 ***

Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds are coming to the Mann to perform two intimate stripped-down and acoustic back-to-back shows on Friday, June 2nd and Saturday, June 3rd.

As a duo, Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds have released three live double-CDs together: Live At Luther College (1999), Live At Radio City (2007) and Live In Las Vegas (2010). Matthews is the lead vocalist/guitarist for Dave Matthews Band, which has sold more than 20 million tickets and a collective 38 million CDs and DVDs combined. It is the first group in history to have six consecutive studio albums debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. He released his solo debut, Some Devil, in 2003 and the lead single, “Gravedigger,” won a GRAMMY® award for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance.

Tickets will be available Friday, February 10th @ 10AM via MannCenter.org, Ticketmaster.com, 800-745-3000, the Mann Box Office and AEGLive.com. The Mann box office will open for the 2017 season on February 10th.

What's the view on the lawn like here? Philly has been my home venue forever but I've never been to the Mann

I currently have the weekend booked at Courtyard by Marriott Philadelphia City Avenue. It was the cheapest for a decent hotel, but its not in the heart of the city (seems like its about a 5 min Uber away). For 2 nights, my total rate is $435.00. Anyone know of anything comparable in the heart of the city?

I don't expect the D&T announcment to shift prices in a city like Philly much.

I really don't think you'll beat that rate. Anything comparable would probably involve the airport, which is gross or maybe looking in AirBNB

I can easily get to and from City Center though from my hotel right, whether by Uber or Taxi? Want to make sure I can grab some drinks before and after the show without having to worry about not being able to get back to my hotel.

The view is great if you don't mind a bit of distance, which is minimal and there won't be any blinding lights. Great vibes and the best venue in Philly.

You definitely can get to and from Center City using Uber or taxis. City Line Ave is not in Center City though if that's where you decide to stay. It has restaurants, but no night life. You can still get to City Line using Uber or taxis, but like I said there's nothing to do, except chain restaurants.

If you go the City Line Ave hotel, that's cool but don't take a taxi because they will take your wallet for a ride, along with you.

Yea, I knew that, but I also figured that's why my rate was a bit cheaper than the other hotels in the Center City.

Sorry man I went back and read that, I had a lot of caffeine this morning after making my own plans for Dave and Tim.

Booked a flight to Nashville with my wife using points for $22.00! Used Airbnb gift card and booked 4 nights for only $225.00.

Good call. Cabs are appreciated, but those fuckers have been taking advantage for years. Now the whole city is open and you'll definitely be happier that way.

I don't know what The Mann will have planned for D&T but the lots opened SUPER early for Phish in recent years. (think like 8-9am) The tailgate scene is pretty awesome in the grass/woods so long as the weather is decent.

also try hotels/airbnbs in University City / West Philly / West Parkside... Center City is your best bet for bars, but University City and Fairmount neighborhoods are good too.

Absolutely! And what's great is the party doesn't stop once inside. Good beer and hopefully the food trucks will be in abundance above the lawn in the venue.

People who have not been to The Mann are in for a great time.

looks like the Mann seats about 13-14K (based upon The Almanac listed attendance for the '95 DMB show)? Kind of a standard, but on the smaller side, amph?

I hope so. It can get shitty real quick, but those of us who grew up here are prepared!

Was anyone at The Mann for Phish N2 in 2014? I don't think anyone will ever forget the storm that rolled in. Watching the trees in the park outside of the fence behind the lawn blowing like crazy and the trees inside the fence absolutely still. The wall of that storm hit and the power went out. They actually made an announcement for people to go back to their cars. Phish went on at 9:30 and played until 1:30am.

I was there for that storm at Phish and luckily I was in the balcony so I didn't get stuck outside.

The Mann holds 14k FWIW. 11K less than Camden but then again I don't think both nights at Camden last year sold out. (I know night 1 didn't) These will obviously sell out but will they sell out within seconds like the Phish shows do? Time will tell.

definitely one of the better lawns out of all the venues however again it is an acoustic show. terrace is just the front part of the lawn and balcony seats are actually amazing, but yes, hot is an understatement.
