Also, the shorter Grey Street gets, the less power it has, IMO. It's never been the same for me since 2003. I find the song hard to listen to because I know my favorite verse will never be played. Now that it's sped up, it's even shorter and that just takes even more joy out of the song for me.

The tempo in the studio is much faster than many of the live versions, and I think it sound great

That's true, but not because it isn't a great song, just because Boyd Tinsley isn't a very good musician / soloist. IMO.

Rapunzel is way too fast at the moment. The speed it had in 2006 is the standard speed for me, but I like the slow 2000 ones too. Being too fast kills it, and with a very loud tim, it's turned into one of their fast rocky songs (that do nothing for me).

I think a regular-tempo, accoustic Grey Street is my favourite. Less Tim. It has definitely sped up.

Lots of BW has sped up as well, e.g. Shake Me - that's done loads.

Some people were saying DDTW but I like it at its current speed.

I like it a lot better at the original tempo. It was nice and groovy. I don't think that they need to be speeding everything up for teh energiez. You're allowed to just relax and let the song happen.

my answer to this question is grey street. not necessarily that it literally sped up the most, but rather that the speeding up/addition of tim totally kills this song.

Maybe I'm the only one, but I think the addition of Tim makes Grey Street sound so much better. LOVE the soundboard copies we have from the Big Apple disc and LT19.

I respectfully disagree.

I think Grey Street has declined quite a bit over the years. "Third Verse" debate aside...the song has sped up and lost a lot of emotion.

This used to be a gut wrenching and powerful song. Now it seems like they just want to go through it as fast as possible.

The tempo of many songs has changed and in most cases I think for the worse, unfortunately.

I love on LT29 that they slowed down Why I Am. That was being played way too damn fast.

One that I dig the way they play now is Crush, especially the outro. It's one of my favorite things nu-DMB does.

All songs to me are a bit faster. Definitely miss the slower, jazzier versions of songs. But I think the speed has slowed down a bit over the past few years. 2010 was probably the year when the tempo really peaked IMO.

can get on board with this. its why i think 2010 is so damn overrated. performances were usually meh to me.
