still have 9 episodes from last season I need to watch.
I noticed last night AMC paid for a commercial on MNF and they didnt even bother to mention the new season starts this sunday.

Just finished S7 last week-end, I thought it wasn't as bad as I feared it would be, but so far only Seasons 1 and 5 for me are must watch television, with the exception of the awful "What Happened and What's Going On" - yawn. I couldn't possibly watch this show as it airs these days with such awful character-centric episodes as "Swear". For those that watched week to week it must have been excruciating waiting from Episode 1 (although Episode 2 was very good) through to episode 6 or 7 or whenever the show finally started gathering a little bit of steam.
The finale was plodding, but the final battle was very good. I really hope Season 8 is much better.

see now this is the shit that always bugs me about this show. its about grand gestures. When Negan made his first appearance, Rick was hidden and had the angle, and he was close. Easy shot. War over.
It's the same thing during the monologue before a firefight. The first shots are always at an inferior, never the main character when it'd be so easy to pick him off

Enjoyed the episode, pace was really nice - it didn't drag or have much filler. I also liked the flash forwards to Old Man Rick.

Episode was ridiculous. The walker horde looking down form the overpass looked way too small and so fake. Old man Rick was ridiculous. Shooting the glass instead of Negan? Rick taking Polaroids of a gunfight? Fucking Gabriel reverting to his dumbass self. The "pump-up speeches." The lamest tracking shot in history. Did I mention old man Rick?
Looks like another strong season ahead. |
