I've banked 15k points, and on the 12th of next month I'm going out of town to take an exam. I look through my rewards on the 24th (2.5 weeks before I need a hotel room) and I see I can get a $100 best western gift card. great! I redeem the points for the gift card, and then I find out they mail a physical gift card, not just email a code or something. ok, fine, no big deal. I'll pay the extra 500 points for extra shipping so I get it asap and I can make the reservation before either the hotel fills up or the price increases. On the 29th I get a voicemail saying there was a problem with shipping, for whatever reason the gift card never got shipped so they're going to refund me the expedited shipping points in 2-3 business days and it "has shipped first class mail." no tracking number, nothing. well, today's 3 days after they said it had already shipped, and first class mail doesn't take this long to get here from fucking Missouri. Now the price of the room has increased (still under $100 so I'm not TOO concerned, as it won't cost me any money out of my pocket) and the shipping cost hasn't been refunded back to me and I need the room next weekend.

What the fuck?

So when it shipped on Tuesday, they sent it regular ass fucking USPS. Like, it sounds like they dropped it in an envelope, wrote a few numbers and letters on the front in crayon, and hoped for the best.

They also tell me now that since I placed it on Thanksgiving it wouldn't have shipped until they opened for business this Monday (then why the fuck did you offer to have it shipped to me on Saturday).


And since it's 330p local time for them, and offices are going to be closing for the weekend soon, I won't even hear back until "early to mid next week". No, fuckface. That won't work for me. I needed the gift card last weekend, that's why I placed the order to have it in time.

What a complete mess.

I called the hotel I'm staying at to ask if I can make the reservation on my debit card and pay for it with the gift card when I check in. Yep, sure no problem. Guy was super helpful but he was helping another guest in front of him so he said it would be a little while until he can help me actually make the reservation but if I wanted to do it now I could do it online. Very helpful, I said I'd do that and I appreciated his assistance.

Now the hotel website is running into errors and won't let me book.

This fucking floor installer I'm dealing with. Takes out the carpet and lays the leveling stuff yesterday. Tells me he'll be back at 8am this morning to put down the new wood flooring. I get a call from him at 9:15am telling me he's at another job, and he doesn't think he can do the job at my house because of the rain. I was like, um, well you're doing a job now in the rain, so why can't you do it at my house? I have a covered porch that will fit your little table saw. He's like, oh, well I saw you had furniture on it. I said it's not bolted down, I will move it into the garage. He hems and haws a bit and says he'll be over in two hours.

5 hours go by and nothing. I text him asking if he's still coming. He says he's still at the other job, and will call me in a second. Hour later I get a call asking if he can just do the job on Monday. I say it's only 2pm, and you said it'd take you 2-3 hours. I don't see why you can't finish it today. He says it'll now take 5 hours. Cool, better get started then. He hems and haws some more and is finally like "Well, okay then, I guess I'll just come over there and do it today."

That was an hour and a half ago.


Wasted my whole fucking Saturday on this shit.


I didn't even pick this fucking day. This is the day(s) they said they had availability.
