Re: Overall lack of setlist variety so far

There isn't a complete lack of variety. 69 songs played already and we're only 11 shows in. SPAC had 46 songs no repeats. That ain't bad! And hey, I'll take Pig, Minarets, PFWYG, WWYS, DIDO, Ants, IBYU, Warehouse, Recently, Billies, Granny and Say Goodbye at every show I go to! The Atlanta set this year was absolute perfection apart from the F--K ME LIKE A DONKEY BAYBEHH closer haha, but an amazing night for sure, and a lot of the other sets have looked absolutely solid. I mean, in the past few years tours have averaged at about 90ish songs, last year 110. Still a good nearly 3 months to go, and by the time the Gorge rolls around there oughta be enough to fill a 3 night stand with no repeats. Also keep in mind that the band is playing like 25 songs per night, compared to the usual 18 or so. More songs, plus tons of Crash and R2T tunes in rotation, I like it

I read on the secret Gorge N3 site that Dave will sing the phonebook. A-F acoustic, G-Z electric. Maybe some business numbers as well.

8 studio albums + tons of unreleased stuff leads me to believe that 69 isn't very high. If they had more variety then we should at least be in the high 80s at this point

Alright, that was funny. Smart Ass.

I'll leave the thread alone. Sorry for voicing hopes and dreams here. Didn't mean to start a down out hate war. lol.

    BACK ON TOPIC.

Set variety, crowd pleasing? to some. not to others. When you become famous, then you decide what gets played when. They're having fun. Hopefully it varies a little though.

    Peace out.

If you look at the album spread, the 'variety' is there. Seems like they are tapping songs from all albums almost equally with RTT leading the way.

Why is monkey satellite every other show while stone and lover lay down constantly remain on the shelf? Just one example.

It was a joke. My mother-in-law loves DMB and says this all the time to show that what he plays or does would not affect her enjoyment of it all.

    It isn't literal.

There is no reason or explanation for The Stone to be nowhere to be found. To your first point, Monkey > Satellite I believe has happened at 3 shows this tour. 3 of 11 isn't that bad. I get what you're saying though and you're right. There's no reason for Stone, BOWA, Typical, Dreaming Tree, Last Stop etc etc etc to not be played.

I've never said you had to like the new stuff. You have always liked and asked for more AFTW. my comments in this thread were only addressing the OP's boredom with repeats at one off shows in different states. I was even negative about the newest power song (in Dave's mind) Shake Me.

I don't know why my name was mentioned in your post about having to like the new stuff. Carry on.
