It's OK because it backs up Dave's lyrics...

    The lyrics fit Boyd's profile.

He screeches the hell out of his violin and he is able to pound about anyone "into ground beef".

    Sure they're about Boyd.

EVERYONE NEEDS TO READ THIS its the real lyrics that are so much better than the ones up right now...

but then it rolls the rainbow over
and now she sees the world way round
no matter how she goes to run and find the end
theres no pot of gold to be found
oh man the walking and the troubles weigh on me tonight
but all the colors mix together, to grey

beautiful....theres no pot of gold to be found at the end of the rainbow

Yeah LT 16's Grey Street is among my least favourites. Grey Street is my =#1 favourite song. I love LT 10 - that's my favourite performance of it.

Re: Live Trax Vol 16 Grey Street

The Warehouse version of Grey Street is mesmerizing and definitely my favorite (and the best in my opinion). However, as many people have said, LT3 is phenomenal too. There's really no other version that comes close to these 2 for me.

As for this LT16 version, I agree with those who said that the improv lyrics - while great on other versions (see the previos 2 I just mentioned) - are just plain bad on this version. With improv it's either hit or miss and this one, imo, was a big miss. Also, this version sounds so empty to me because Dave's playing it on a 6 string instead of the 12. Just my $.02 though

I'm absolutely obsessed with this again. If DMB played Grey St this way (less horns during verses, 3rd verse, 2 choruses to end it), it would be in my top 10. These improv lyrics are on point too. Just amazing.

Yeah it's a shame the 3rd verse was dumped for whatever reason, but I prefer my Grey Street's with set lyrics.
