I went to Record Archive in Rochester, NY (I'm in Canada) so I could get a copy of the 7" single. I'm not going all the way back down there to swap it.

Does anyone that's ordered from Amazon or Best Buy recently know if their copy is playing dead centre or not? That's all I care about.
Again, my copy from Best Buy is fine. I bought it in the store, though. I have no problems with it. It's clean, plays fine, and no errors. I got it about 3 weeks ago.

Cool thanks for the update - I will pick up a copy from them next time I'm over the border in the US.

Well, it seems that the Best Buy here in Madison only has so many at a time. I kept waiting and calling them til they had some back in stock.

So call them before you head down, just to make sure they have some.

I ordered my first one from Amazon, it was mislabeled and played off center (centre ). I exchanged it for another one that was correctly labeled and is dead on. Their exchange was also brilliant, I filled out a form, they overnighted my new copy to me, and I put the other record back in the box and mailed it back.

I have learned to live with the fact that it is labeled wrong. I really don't care at all anymore.

It's been that way for as long as I can remember. You can still buy alcohol at bars, taverns, and restaurants.

There is also no smoking in bars, taverns, and restaurants now . . . which is great for people with asthma .

Yeah Amazon is pretty great with return policy.
Good to know, I will probably order from them to save myself the trip to a US Best Buy.

Is everyone's side 4 (Time Bomb, Baby Blue, You & Me) wowing in and out, as if the centre hole were off? Yet side 3 tracks perfectly? I have 3 copies that do the same thing.

Well, the recordings did go from Digital to Analog, so ithe LP is not going to sound like how Dark Side of the Moon sounds on an LP. However, I think it does sound slightly better than the CD/digital copies, but that might be because of my record player.

There is no point comparing Flac and Analog. Flac is digital, just like CDs. When you put something to digital, you lose a lot. Then again, this is Digital to Analog to Digital, doesn't make sense why you want to download a flac version of the Vinyl. Just get the CD, the transfer will probably sound better than
Original Digital Files to Vinyl to Flac.

Side 1 is the only one that tracks dead still for me.
Side 2 it's noticeable on Dive In.
Side 4 is the worst though, very noticeable (to me) on the final moments of Baby Blue.

I posted a comparison between the CD and the vinyl on my You Tube channel.

Trying to get one without the pitch problems would be my guess.

It's good. You won't get the fidelity of the vinyl with the 16/44.1 rip but you will avoid the brickwalling and massive amounts of compression found on the CD.

The vinyl came from a 24-bit master, unlike the CD. It was also subject to less dynamic range compression.

i did notice this. i opened up why i am in sonar.

i bought the CD, so I figured I'd burn the vinyl copy to a CD to use as my daily listener with the bonus tracks

I started collecting vinyl about 6 months ago and over half my collection has come from amazon. Shipping is quick and they have great prices. I would always reccommend them for ordering stuff online.

Does anyone know any other good vinyl shops online?? I found one the other day called allmusicimports that had a bunch of vinyls that no one else had and great prices but after I did a little research I found out that the company isn't managed well and it's impossible to contact them if they screw up your order.

I usually use www.discogs.com for used vinyl as they have over a million listings! Just stick with sellers with decent ratings and you'll find they grade their records honestly.

For new records Amazon is great...some other websites I use:

    www.musicdirect.com
    www.acousticsounds.com
    www.elusivedisc.com
    www.soundstagedirect.com
    www.nerdalertrecords.com

I bought the vinyl from fye.com because it was the cheapest I could find. I get a package in the mail yesterday (over a month after I got the record) from FYE. I got a arm-sized promotional poster for big whiskey for thanks for buying it through them. I was shocked. Very good business (even though their in store prices are pretty much shit).

Very cool! I think I got the same thing, 11x17 with album art and the title written underneath in black with the Sony copyright at the bottom in small writing.

I got it flash mounted for $40 (plak mounting would be around $20) and it looks absolutely beautiful now. I'd highly recommend checking a local framing house close to you to see how much a plak or flash mount would be...it will protect it so much better.

They were free from musictoday as replacements, they didn't want the old ones back. I wouldn't put out new money for fixed ones though.

I got it flash mounted for $40 (plak mounting would be around $20) and it looks absolutely beautiful now. I'd highly recommend checking a local framing house close to you to see how much a plak or flash mount would be...it will protect it so much better.

great idea. As it is now I can't even barely get it unfolded as it was very tightly compact. I will be looking into this.

So weird, even Amazon.ca has it listed for $40.99.
I don't know why we get screwed here sometimes on imports, yet othertimes not.

Amazon US had it for $13.49 a couple weeks ago.
