Probably why it's a November release. I think it will be paced well enough that it wont be a yawner. That's how it'll work. The general public doesn't want to go see a movie like 2001 in a theatre, and he knows that.

But it appears it'll still be high on spectacle though.. Enough to make up for the lack of typical action.

No he doesn't. Dude gets t-bagged all day around here.
People like what they like. I think he delivers on what he's selling and has a unique style. There are certainly far worse film makers getting praise out there. I haven't loved everything he's done, but I'll give anything he's got coming out a shot. I was a little indifferent about this one until the 3rd trailer.

Nolan is one of the most original directors out there at the moment. His use of live action shots vs. constant use of CGI makes such a difference in his storytelling. I wish more directors saw things this way. It's a lot more fun to go to the movies and truly believe what you're seeing as opposed to the typical CGI spectacle that's thrown in our faces these days.

and apparently it's going to show in 70mm IMAX in limited locations.

Our local, true IMAX theater is a part of a local museum, and not really known for showing theatrical releases... with the exception of The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. (I think they showed Batman Begins there too, but I didn't see it there). It was one of the locations that showed the TDKR prologue because they had the IMAX film projectors... and yet... no Interstellar. This movie has science museum written all over it, so I'm shocked it's not showing there. Oh well. I'll settle for pseudo-IMAX at the AMC I guess.

The big science museum here in Tampa (MOSI) has a 70mm IMAX projector with a dome screen, and it looks like they will be part of the early release. If the basic IMAX short films they show in that theater are any indication to what the Interstellar experience will be like, then

Having seen TDK and TDKR in our dome theater.. yeah, it's awesome. Honestly, I felt the sound was more impressive than the imagery. As much as I like the film experience, I really think digital projection gives you a higher quality image for viewing. But we don't have that kind of digital projection.

I much prefer movies shot on native film... but the digital presentation is hard to match in an analog format.

I would go to the Fort Lauderdale location instead, not domed screen = proper aspect ratio.

I'm excited about this movie, but not excited enough to drive four hours to south Florida to see it.

However, if you think the dome screen could mess up the viewing experience as far as aspect ratio is concerned, I might stick with my original plan and see it at the double projected screen in Orlando.

Yeah my seats for that viewing aren't the best, but I am pretty sure I will see this twice as I normally do for Nolan's films.

That's actually from V for Vendetta, it's called Evey Reborn.

The only tease that we have gotten for Hans music is below. I don't think we've been able to tie that to another film, so my guess is that it's from the music for Inception.

It would definitely bother the heck out of me but I'm HIGHLY sensitive to things like that. The digital IMAX in Ft. Myers is excellent, is that a lot closer to you?

Oh yeah and Orlando has two digital IMAX, not sure if they both show movies - 6000 Universal Blvd and 541 N Alafaya Trail.

There are quite a few 4K digital screens also, that would be my 3rd option if I couldn't do IMAX film or digital IMAX.

Yeah Orlando has an IMAX at Universal and one at a complex called Pointe Orlando. I thought there was one at Disney, too, but I could be wrong. The one at Pointe Orlando is damn near the size of a drive-in movie screen. It's enormous. Saw TDKR and the Metallica movie there, probably the two most incredible movie-going experiences I've had.
