Re: Australian Tour April 07.....

I wonder if they'd open up the roof at Vodafone...not that I'm able to get there, but it's probably the closest to an open air show that they'd do here.

As for Warehouse tix, the only real advantage is getting them before the public do in the case of the Sydney shows. An all GA venue annoys me. How are security with cameras and the like at the Hordern, Kanki (if you know)?

Yeah I was hoping they would play at the River Stage in Brisbane which is an awsome place for music.

Cant be sure re cameras at the Hordern sorry.. We never tried to take one to previous shows there but my other half is now a keen photographer so i'm sure will be interested to find out too.

I'm sure at Spearhead at the Hordern there were plenty of cameras..as Franti always encourages people to photograph or record as much as they like..

But even at shows such as the recent U2 concert at Telstra stadium where the tickets said in huge print NO CAMERAS everyone was flashing away.. making me think it's just proffessional type stuff they try and restrict .. ? Is it the venue or artist that decide restrictions on this sort of thing i wonder?

My camera's not a compact point and shoot (although my mum has one that would be easier to conceal somehow)...but looking through the Warehouse ticketing policy they say no still or vid cameras permitted, yet all the traded DVDs and pics that people get make it seem that the security at the venue are where the buck stops at instead of the band. In any case, the cloakroom at the Hordern's a couple of bucks per item so if I'm not, not too much of a worry I guess.

FYI since a few asking bout the Hordern ..it's located where the Easter Show used to be and what was known as Fox Studios and now the Entertainment Quarter of something.. so plenty of places to have a drink and feed before and after the show right outside.

I know it's a bummer about no reserved seating with the Warehouse set up but i've always found it to be a great venue..

I'm not expecting a bad view by any means As a guide, I worked a concert last year that was held at the Hillsong Conevntion centre (same sort of capacity and seating arrangements) and the view from the back wasn't too bad at all. And the Entertainment Quarter is pretty nice - last year I took a look around and there's a very nice ice creamery.

I decided to delete my 11/4 request and buy a ticket from Ticketek for that show. I somehow doubt my credit card will be able to handle the 3rd ticket.

My friends from NV are looking into it. They did all the shows last time too.

For all you US fans organizing your travel...

Buy your interstate flights from http://www.flightcentre.com.au/flights

Their search means you can compare all the airlines flights at once, including the cheaper http://www.virginblue.com.au and http://www.jetstar.com

When you fly to Melbourne, fly to Tullamarine airport ... don't fly to Avalon airport. Avalon flights are cheaper, but another 55km in a taxi to Melbourne $$$

Also if you are in Sydney for Easter instead of the Blues Fest, don't forget THE GREAT ESCAPE music festival http://www.thegreatescape.net.au It has alot of acts from the East & West Coast festivals ... Wolfmother, Gomez, The Living End, Hilltop Hoods, Missy Higgins, Fat Freddy's Drop, Feist, Ziggy Marley, Ben Kweller, Lee Scratch Perry, Bob Evans, The Vines, Fishbone, The Fumes... with more to be announced

    And Melbourne Comedy Festival http://www.comedyfestival.com.au

I just saw the announcement of the Great Escape line up..

Went last year and it was a fantastic festival.

Heaps of space and relaxed.. Love Bluesfest and used to go every year but won't return till they move to bigger grounds, it's waaay overcrowded now.

Think i'll be hitting the Great Escape again..

    Gomez woohoo!!!

i'll be doing the Fremantle B&R Fest and the Melb show. I'm so stoked that they're coming to WA this time around. My mum lived in Sydney for a few years, so I crashed with her for a few days for one of the Sydney shows last time round.

It's a pity that Wolfmother will be polluting the stage before DBM at the Freo Fest

The only problem is that there won't be much open on a Tuesday and Wednesday night i don't think. I went to see Jason Mraz at The Venue (which is pretty much across the road) and there was hardly anything open. But there is a good bar/resteraunt on the corner and a chinese resteraunt on top of that.

And i doubt that channel v would be filming anything live, because they are lazy and don't do anything live anymore.

Any ideas when the ticket info. will come up on ticketmaster or ticketek? And I'm guessing all the times and dates for everything will be in the Australian time zone right? I'm so anxious about it haha I really hope I can get ticketss.

Tickets will be up on www.ticketek.com.au

And heads up on the time zones. When we could buy the tickets on the Warehouse for the 27th at 9am, it was 1am on the 28th in Sydney. Everytime i used ticketek i've been able to log in at 9am and buy tickets.

I think i worked it out on an internet time calculator thingy.... i hope that helps!

hordern are tight with cameras. John Butler encourages taping but they still wouldn't allow when he was there (I put a mic down my pants)

For future reference just get the venue staff to talk to Jules, JB's tour manager. He'll sort 'em out for ya.

If you’re trying to access it via a proxy you’ll likely get an ip error. Eg I can get to it from home but not from work (not necessarily a bad thing). Zach’s working on it.
