Im with ya, I always use semtex. You can always throw back a semtex if its close, a cooked frag you cant.

Frags are infinitely better than semtex. There's a reason no pro players use semtex, all run frags. They give you so much more control, range, everything. No better feeling than spawning, see a flag is being taken, and perfectly arcing a frag with it's 3 second fuse over the top of a building to clear a flag. Instead of a semtex, with it's 1.5s fuse, which would explode in the air.

Betties or frags are all I use in MW3. Semtex are only good if you're in a no-win situation and have to throw something at the dude right in front of you.

disagree on all that. i'd wager my semtex skills against most frags. if you want to arc over a building, be my guest, i'll rage quit on that

Other thing to keep in mind is frags have a bigger kill radius. Semtex aren't just frags with a shorter fuse that stick, they're weaker. They have the same effective range, but frags have a minimum damage of 75, while Semtex go down to 55. Basically, if there's a grenade notification on your screen and it's a frag, there's a very small chance that you're surviving. If it's a Semtex, there's a much better chance of surviving.

If that's true (about the minimum damage+radius), I might start using Frags from now on. I've always used semtex because they tend to be more convenient for me. I'm a bad judge as far as cooking, and figuring the roll involved. It's easier to just stick it to a wall, or the ceiling above the guy in a window. The shorter fuse generally comes in handy too. I don't have to hold onto the grenade for an extra second and a half.

Question though. Can you put back a frag once you pull it out?

Exactly. I'm worried were looking at something like:

Xbox Elite: Jan 24
Xbox non-Elite+PS3 Elite: Feb 24
PS3 non-Elite: Mar 24

I'm going to seriously consider just shelving the game until that point. It's bullshit that they put out such garbage maps, and then we have to wait 3 months until the game becomes a little more tolerable. MW2's maps were really, for the most part, perfect. I complained about a few of them at the time, but they were all playable. I can't say the same for these.

No. That's the one advantage I will give Semtex, but even then, I get so many kills when I pull out a frag, the guy I was going to throw it at dies, so I just randomly pick some location to chuck it at, and it gets someone. And that's mainly because of the bigger kill radius.

Bakaara and Downturn fucking blow, and I'm pretty indifferent about Interchange through Bootleg. I thoroughly enjoy Resistance through Outpost though.

I'm much more accurate with semtex than frags. plus i like the bonus stuck points. very few people escape my grenades. i may give them a try to see if my kills increase on long throws from the blast damage you mentioned

you can hold a semtex as long as you want. once you tape RB though, you have to throw it (i don't think you could hit change weapon)

You don't have to throw a semtex. You can switch weapons and it puts it back. Frags once you pull them out they are done.

I'm using them just for the challenges. I'm a frag guy myself, because they are just more resourceful than a Semtex. The way I look at it you can do most everything with a Frag that you can do with a Semtex, but not vice versa.
