Maybe it's just because he's such a pragmatist, and he did almost leave the company before because of Don.
I liked this episode for more of the symbolic and philosophical stuff, really enjoyed Don's talks with the former IBM guy - were people looking up at the stars worried about numbers? Also some references to 2001: A Space Odyssey. I'm sure it's supposed to mean something about technology - should we be optimistic about it (moon landing) or is it opening Pandora's box (monkeys discovering the Monolith in Space Odyssey and learning to go to war with one another). Other than that I was hoping for a little more pushing the plot forward, but it was still a good episode overall. Don seems to be learning more and getting better every episode, even if it is recovering from a relapse.
Oh, and Don's stare at Peggy when he was in her office was gold. Jon Hamm is a beast actor.
