I can remember going to the public pool when I was little, and I was a really good swimmer, and my mom always got in with me and stuck with us. Heck, we had a pool in our back yard, and even though I was on a swim team, I wasn't allowed to swim in the pool without my mom or dad at least in the area.
I've actually had to jump in and pull kids out of 4 feet with mom/dad standing about 4 feet from them, in the pool, not paying attention because flirting with someone else's wife/husband was keeping their attention. It's awful.
You're also an amazing mom, Ange!

Awww Thanks Katie.
I was at the beach when I was 5 months pregnant and I saw a little boy (7-8) take a boogie board out into the ocean, the waves in the Pacific can be pretty rough so I watched him for just a second and sure enough, he started drowning.
I ran down the beach (well waddled really) and swam out and got him, right after I got to him and held him up, the lifeguard got there and took over.
Found out after we got to the shore that the kid did not know how to swim. Why the eff would you give your kid a boogie board and let him go in the ocean with it alone, if he can't swim!?
