Re: Australian Tour April 07.....

I'd rather see them in their own show any day of the week, but playing at a Festival such as Bluesfest or West Coast Blues and Roots would do wonders for their profile down here.

Maybe the OZ dollar is too strong for them to come down here.... damn economic recovery :P

was reasonably easy to do. u can buy tents over there for under $100, or even borrow one of a fellow ant that is going, depending what site your thinking of staying at. Gorge campground is alot more 'party' orientated, and wildhorse is more chilled vibe, but still awesome.

its 3 hours out of seattle, so its either camp or u have to drive 20-30 miles to a hotel. i cant recommend the camping option highly enough. its a total blast and you meet so many ppl.

ill be heading over again, for my 4th time, i warn you, once u go, u wont wanna miss it again.

I've pretty much decided I'll hit a US west coast show next year...maybe an east coast one if there are any Ants after parties going on. Gorge would be ideal of course, but if there's a special festival or one off show somewhere special, that might be good as well.

dvd over at traders' dmb 1992-06-17 (not a typo....1992!!)

    info posted

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
    Dave Matthews Band
    June 17, 1992
    Floodzone
    Richmond, Virgina

Source: High-VHS (Masters from Taper)-> VOB (Professionally by everlastingmedia.com) -->TMPGEnc Author + Menus (no re-encoding performed)

Set I (Multicam w/ SBD Audio):

    The Song That Jane Likes
    Cry Freedom
    Satellite
    Ants Marching
    Spotlight
    One Sweet World
    All Along The Watchtower
    Minarets-->
    Blue Water
    Tripping Billies

Set II (Tripod Pro-Aud Cam w/ Cam Audio):

    So Much To Say
    The Best of What's Around
    True Reflections
    The Maker
    Dancing Nancies
    Angel from Montgomery
    Warehouse

Bonus from Set II: (Multicam w/ SBD Audio):

    So Much to Say
    The Best of What's Around
    True Reflections
    The Maker

    Notes:

Getting this out was a passion of mine. Took forever and spent both time and $$$. It's a gem though. Hope some enjoy.

The taper only had Set I through part of Set II in multicam format. Set II was complete from the front camera (good camera audio). I included the redundant multicam footage at the end so all is present on this disc.

    Menus and Chapters included.

Requires (1) DVD-9 disc for burning.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

Don't know if you can view the traders' link above if not logged in, but if you can it has some youtube vids embedded as samples.

I've already downloaded it, if anyone would like a copy.

I think the second set with the single camera is actually better than the muticam, which does get a little hazy at times, but very nicely edited & steady with no heads in way. Overall well worth watching........& has a song I'd never heard before as an added bonus

Just noticed if you shop on http://www.store.livenation.com/Browse.aspx you can bundle DMB and other bands merch (all sourced from musictoday). i was thinking of getting the new OAR Live album, this way i can get DMB europe too and pay 1 postage cost. ONly thing i dont get is pre-order album from oar, bonus disc from dmb or warehouse member discount...

WHAT! That is awesome (for you) but bad (for me)....

Cost me $24.13 for postage to Sydney! EU Box, Calendar, LT16, Shirt & Lanyard

so $142.00 US total, I'm so poor now....but that is my x-mas present to myself, shame it won't be here until the New Year...

I did recieve an email from MusicToday thou asking me to fill out a survey. I absolutely roasted them in it, but got a free shipping voucher code for use on my next order. I trialled it in a dummy order but it still charged me for postage/shipping...

After emailing them asking about the free shipping they said the voucher was US residents only...grr!

Yea, the PayPal method seemed interesting... I suppose they cant determine shipping costs though a paypal site for payment, unless its a set price, whereas musictodays site calculates it from # of items and weight...

i dont have a paypal acct. normally i just put my Credit card details in if im ever directed to a paypal checkout..

I hope you get away with it and save some $$$ for xmas

Is that the one with the boxing kangaroo? Were they selling them on WH? I'm curious to know because I'm unsure if it was "official" merch, & I have seen posts suggesting it was a bootleg.

After all my huffing & puffing & threats to blow the house down I decided to order the Europe Box Set & the Carter Jersey & by some miracle qualified for Free Shipping! I'm still in shock.

As far as the band touring Australia,I'm wondering what peoples thoughts are, given that many indie & less well-heeled bands tour here annually,as to whether the band should tour here as a 'goodwill gesture'. After all, they are all wealthy men in their own right & surely could afford to tour here & not take a hit financially.

Am I being naive? What do others think?

Personally I think that they SHOULD tour here in 2010 Big Whiskey is a great album and I would love to experience it live but I dont think they will tour here again......................................I think that they're concentrating on building a European fanbase (2006dm/d&t 2007 dmb 2009 dmb and 2010dmb) and have left their run of building a fanbase in Australia too late. There has been lacklustre promotion or none at all here over the last 15 years, and of course cancelled tours. Cancelling the tour in 2001 was a massive blow for promoting the band for me I think that they would have had much more success promoting the band during the 'Everyday' period cause as much as people dont like it (i do) its got some catchy radio friendly stuff that would have gone down well unlike American Baby which if that was my introduction into the band hmmmmmm (I'd cringe when friends who only know of dmbs existence because of me would hear that song) although I did get way too excited in a Colorado shop last week cause it came on................................I dont know that they would come not attached to a festival --I dont count 2007 in that cause initially they were attached to the west and east BRF.............

    Too sad..................................

The culture of community that has been created around this band is awesome and we still experience most of it from the other side of the globe I just wish that touring here was a part of that as well................

    Happy new year every one.......................

I just used my credit card* as per normal.I wasn't expecting it 'cos as you say it says U.S customers only even though I spent in excess of $60.00.

(* I have a debit card but it can be used as a credit card when ordering stuff on-line,etc)

Yea i have the same type of card.

I just re-visited the warehouse store and logged in and re-added all the items that i preorderd back on 9th December when i was charged $24.13 shipping to Sydney. Now you're right it has standard as $0.00 and other 2 methods around $30+

I just sent an email to warehouse sharing my dissapointment that how the people that pre-oreder in early Dec were hit with shipping charges, while people can order now and get free shipping (International customers included). Especially considering the pre-orders were meant to ship on 18th Dec, been released on 22nd Dec and mine has only been dispached as of yesterday (31th Dec)

Hopefully ill get a shipping refund....

I hope you do.If we're all getting screwed then that's okay but it doesn't seem fair when there's no consistency.

    Just a suggestion.

Everyone should buy from here http://www.store.livenation.com for your DMB merch now. Only thing you don't get is the exclusive DMB pre-order discs (if any) and warehouse only merch. Everything else is the same price and at the moment they have 15-40% off depending on how many items you buy. You can buy DMB stuff, OAR stuff, U2 stuff etc etc and have it all shipped together in the one order - and it is free standard shipping at the moment too. I could have saved heaps if it did it through here earlier instead of paying seperate shipping charges through DMB store and OAR store and i could have got 40% off

I'm pretty sure Live Nation bought Musictoday, that's why the site looks just like Musictodays and all the products are corss sourced from the bands' seperate online stores.

    Happy New Year!

    Happy New Year everyone!

Thanks for the heads up about http://www.store.livenation.com I just went and ordered Europe 2009 + 2 Live Trax + 2 Bama Works Charity Bracelets (so 5 items in total to qualify for 40% off) for US$64 (with free shipping)

It sucks that everyone who was organised enough to pre-order etc got ripped I think its time DMB parted ways with MusicToday

Edit: that deal ends on January 5, so be quick!
