I know we did talk about seeing and meeting GNR back in the day. Seeing the Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets tours was great. I can remember staring at Cliff and being amazed that he could rock out like a madman without breaking his neck. He was special.

Another interesting show was seeing them on the first Van Halen's Monsters of Rock show in 1988 and I believe that was the first big American show for Jason Newsted.

Meh... Death Magnetic feels like a bad attempt at trying to recover the 'old sound' that turned out to be a riffless mess. At least this new tune has some riffage to it. I dig it. Also intrigued by the 12 songs over 2 discs... there's gotta be at least a couple of really long songs on there.

Yeah that name and cover are terrible. That said, I feel like that what's a lot of the 80s metal covers would have looked like if they'd had Photoshop.

New song isn't awful. Got some pretty good riffage. Hope the tour is an actual tour and not 10 show and every city has multiple dates. I'd love to cross these guys off the list.

I'm pretty excited for this album. Like someone else said, don't care about the cover or the name. The song is good and has an edge to it. Also Jame's voice is better than I expected.

Saw them In 2008. They are still one of the most entertaining shows I've ever seen. Easily up there with U2 for stage theatrics and performance. It was loud as fuck though.

Saw them in 2010 at Sonisphere Festival in Zurich. German metalheads in full force that day, Rammstein shirts everywhere. Still one of the greatest concerts I've ever seen. I would love a chance to see them again. Caught a guitar pick after the show, but no clue where it is now...

The Big 4 played that festival (Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Slayer), and Metallica blew all of the other bands out of the water. Alice in Chains was great too, even though the new lead singer wore tight bellbottoms and looked just like Prince. Sounded almost identical to Layne Staley though.

Hearing reports they're touring North America in 2017 so you should get a chance.
