Re: New York Yankees

There's a possibility we have another WS trophy in the next three years with or without him.

Do anything/everything you can to get Harper in that line-up.

If that means trading Ellsbury or not resigning Gardner you do it.

    Judge/Harper/Ellsbury
    Judge/Harper/Gardner

    Oh my.

With an infield of Torres, Didi, Castro, and either Bird or a better 1B Free Agent. With Sanchez behind the plate. It's fucking ridiculous. We don't even need to play the games.

Lineup could be absolutely legendary in a few years but it won't mean jack shit without some better SP.

I know Frasier has great potential but given Judge's rapid ascension I wouldn't be surprised if they put him as the centerpiece in a package to get a top-tier SP in a year or two.

If Judge keeps up his pace the Yanks would be risking pissing off a lot of fans if they trade him. Better to move a promising infielder - of which we have a few to spare.

Wow, not sure if I can ever recall a 4-9 putout quite like Judge and Castro pulled off last night. Helluva reaction by Judge.

The Yankees left more runners on base tonight (21) than the Pirates (16), and they played 14 innings. Terrible.

sure hope, whatever is bothering him (be it an injury or just mechanics), that it gets cleared up.

not that i want him to leave the team, but i want him pitching at a level that would make him consider opting out at the end of the year. if he's terrible, that means we're stuck with a terrible pitcher if that makes any sense

3 games against the Sox, then 3 more against the O's. would be nice to take 2 of 3 of each series. Hopefully Tanaka can pitch decently tonight...

Anything better than giving up 3+ HR in 6 IPs will be an improvement, sadly.

I suppose anyone can have a bad year. Just so uncharacteristic for him given how reliable he's been the preceding three years.

Big couple series coming up here for our boys. I would absolutely consider 2 out of 3 in both series to be a huge win. This week will set the tone for the rest of the division games this season.

From NJ in the shadows of NYC. Grew up a NY Rangers fan, NY Giants fan, NJ Nets fan and I am a Rutgers guy now.

That said, I never liked baseball. As a kid I would have said Mets if you asked my favorite team, but really I literally never watched the sport at all unless I was at a game.

Then I went to Boston for the first time in 1999. I completely fell in love with that city. My parents (Yankees fans btw) took me to Fenway. I was hooked and have followed the Sox ever since.

I wore a Sox hat every day in high school and got ridiculed relentlessly. I lived through the ALCS in 1999 and 2003 as a Sox fan surrounded by Yankees fans. I wore that Sox hat after every devastating loss.

Finally, I got the chance to move to Boston and lived there for 4 almost 5 years. Amazingly, I got to see them win the World Series twice while living there

I still make trips up there just for Fenway about every year.

Anyway, this has all been explained for years on this site by me. If you scroll through the Sox threads dating all the way back to the start of this site, you will see me on there explaining how a guy from Jersey, with a family full of Yankees fans became a big Red Sox guy.

(BTW, my family are all NJ Devils fans too....)

I think he earned his DFA with that at bat, although Sanchez's two strike swing on his 9th inning strikeout didn't look much better.
