DMB drum covers

Would love some criticism from the people who know Carter best, die-hard DMB fans.

Surprised nobody has responded to this... If you're still around..

I checked out 41 only cause satellite is kinda too easy and hard to do wrong.

The common mistake I see amongst Carter drum covers is doing "too much" on the hi hat. You are putting in too many fills that Carter doesn't do and while some say "I'm throwing in my own spin", the reality is, you're doing a "drum cover". If you want to be judged on your ability to do a drum cover of someone, play it as accurately as possible and forget doing your own little fills etc.

So with that said... I think you do too many fills, too many rolls on the hi hats, and in the part "I will go in this way", you are missing the ride cymbal and other things...

If I had to be completely honest, I feel like you haven't listened to the song enough to be able to cover it. It just sounds like you're doing your own thing. I know I'm really critical but I have been covering DMB songs for 10+ years on the drums.

Keep on practicing but also try watching Carter play more so you can what hes doing in parts like "I will go in this way".

If one drum is getting hot while driving, he's overtightened them. They should be adjusted to slightly rubbing with the handbrake adjuster backed right off.
