The "live internet blogger" was pretty damn funny and original thread to put into a standup show.

very timely to my own feelings, but he just took a nice little swipe at Big Bang Theory. but the thing that really cracks me up is how he randomly but relentlessly makes fun of BJ Novak.

really the only criticism I have of Maron, it really starts pushing past the bounds of belief (and yes, I think even comedy needs to have a reasonable level of suspension of disbelief) that Mark would still continue to be friends with Dave. the guy is a complete sociopathic asshole.

trust me, I really wish sometimes I would not feel the level of empathy that I do

Sneaky Pete was cool. Nothing amazing, but definitely fun and entertaining.

    Bryan Cranston co-created the show.

so at the WGA awards tonight, the Duffer brothers shared that apparently an "A-list producer" told them they should just get rid of the 80s setting and the kids for Stranger Things.

uhh... WTF?? This has really got to be up there among the dumbest ever of 'studio notes' that I've ever heard. I mean can you imagine that meeting? "We think you've really got something special here, we love what you'd dreamed up. Could you just go back and rewrite only about 70% of it? that'd be greeeeeat, mmkay?"

also though I have to admit, I was a little thrown finding out they only just turned 33 years old (they're twins if you didn't realize that already). So, it would seem like they experienced the bulk of 80s culture more second hand, I mean I'm more of an 80s kid than they were. They were 6 when the decade ended, I was 14.

S2 is really great. I think I enjoyed it more than S1. I'm really excited for the continuation of this series. It's my understanding they're going to keep telling the story to modern day.

anyone watch The Missing on Starz? Seriously one of the best shows I've seen in awhile. If anyone likes a good mystery, I highly recommend. Season 2 just dropped recently, and it's a relatively quick watch (each season only has 8-hour long episodes).

yeah I'm really enjoying Big Little Lies as well

this is gonna sound sexist as hell, though I don't mean it to be. I don't generally enjoy shows/movies with all-female leads. Not sure why, maybe just not as relatable to me as a male lead (cuz yeah, I can relate to Brad Pitt ) but Im really liking this

    I agree with that statement

And I'm also enjoying Big Little Lies. But I also enjoy Pretty Little Liars

Maybe I only like my all female shows if they are some sort of liar

It's not sexist! (Huge irritant.) Women aren't supposed to like a lot of "male" movies and that's not sexist either. Now, if you can't appreciate a good story and good acting, that's a little different.

Let me know how you feel about the following movies. If you don't like any of them, then yeah, you may be sexist.

1.) Steel Magnolias (personally I love this movie)
    2.) Monster
    3.) Thelma & Louise
    4.) Bridesmaids
    5.) Trainwreck
6.) The Accused (maybe not all female cast but the main two characters were female)
7.) The Girl on the Train (totally underrated, imo - but I did read that book, so could be biased)
    8.) In Her Shoes

    I'm sure there are more.

My point being is that, of course, you're not going to be able to relate to every "female" movie but you should be able to relate to good stories regardless of the gender of the characters.

I think BLL is a great example. I don't care at all that it's mainly about that group of women. I'm just really digging the way the story is going.

Again, I haven't read the book but I think the fact that throughout episode 1 (watching 2 tonight) you really don't know anything but learn a lot is really cool. I don't recall a show/movie where I didn't even know who the victim was, let alone the perp.

    1.) Steel MagnoliasNot enough steel
2.) Monster lack of monsters was a bit confusing
3.) Thelma & Louise love Brad Pitt
4.) Bridesmaids Jon Hamm stole every scene
5.) Trainwreck rented this thinking it was Taking of Pelham 123
6.) The Accused guilty of never seeing it
7.) The Girl on the Train not as good as Dinosaur Train
8.) In Her Shoes was this an Everlast song?

I haven't seen most of these. Bridesmaids was funny, saw parts of Trainwreck and enjoyed it

I just finished Season 2 last night. Liked it way better than Season 1, and I loved Season 1. It's seriously so great. Julien Baptiste is one of my favorite characters on TV (also, he was the french guy in the Patriot!)

Are any of the Chicago shows good? I watched most of the first season of PD for Sophia Bush and ended up tapping out.
