Re: 2016 Race to the White House

Trump has a much better chance of being a 2 term president than Hillary does.*

*Not accounting for health in that statement. Or if he actually runs again (since I don't think he even wants to do the job of POTUS)

There's absolutely no comparison between the actual days of slavery and modern day working. I can totally understand the seemingly harmless mentality of "I'm a slave to my job" or "I get paid slave wages", it's all very much hyperbole when you line it up against actual slavery where men and women were beaten, whipped, forced into sex to breed stronger slaves, etc... Again, I'm not super sensitive, so off the cuff remarks don't bother me but anyone actually trying to compare the two is being ridiculous.
What about the ones that were well-fed and had decent housing?

From the Democrat side, I think we will see more opposition to her re-election if she wins, but I think she would have more of a chance of being re-elected than Trump, even if it is a small chance. But I imagine she won't easily get re-elected and there will be a significant opposition with more than a few candidates that will oppose her.
I mean, I thought most of the GOP spent 4 years ensuring Obama wouldn't have a second term, then they had another 4 years after that -- I'm still shocked this is the best they were able to do. And from the look of it, many of those within the party are just as shocked.

There's a lot of anger in the Republican Party at President Obama. I think Trump just found a way to use that anger to push himself ahead of all the rest. It seems that some of them were putting forth policy discussions and talking about things they would do, etc, and Trump was channeling that anger in such a way that it resonated with all of the Republicans who don't like Obama.

Its an incredibly dumb thing to do, but no its not actual treason.

This irritates the shit out of me when Republicans claim that Obama has divided this country. Your Senate majority leader literally said their goal was to make Obama a one term president.

No way this falls under the definition of treason. First Trump had nothing to do with the hack or release, all he did was reference something that already happened. Secondly, the DNC database does not contain national security information - hopefully, it is campaign bullshit mostly so that does not pass the treason test either. Treason in the cyber word should be used against people like snowden or manning who knowingly and willingly disclosed classified material to the world which damaged relations and put the lives of US citizens at risk. I won't even get started on hillary's bathtub server!

Maybe, maybe not - will depend on what the next President accomplishes in the first term.

I think the difficult part about the GOP is that the country is trending more liberal on views of social issues. The GOP is going to need to find a way to become more moderate on social issues to remain sustainable.

This morning, my uncle's second wife (I refuse to call her my aunt - she's an awful human being regardless of her politics) posted about how awful Tim Kaine's fashion choices were last night at the DNC and that essentially it was unbecoming of a Vice President to look how he looked. She finished it off with saying "Imagine how much worse it will get from here." I responded with "I know what you mean! Next thing you know, he'll be wearing a suit and baseball cap!"

Dead silence from her ever since.

BUT I do think he's definitely right about there being in oligarchy. I was actually having a discussion with a guy the other day because he believes in the Illuminati pretty hardcore. To me, it's like, why do they need it? They have the money, they have the power, they have the connections, i.e. each other, rich powerful people, they don't need a secret society, they just do business that benefits them. And everyone just gets in line because we're all just 1 step away from being rich ourselves!
Exactly what you described right there is the Illuminati. Only secret part about it is holding meetings to discuss what they plan to do.

I mean theres all kinds of secret societies now and throughout history, theyre just falling in line, really.

Apparently his shirt was "untucked" and his pants were crinkled. I couldn't tel at all from the caps she posted that the shirt was untucked. But whatever. I thought he looked perfectly fine based on what I saw.

And Cazzie, he had on a dark navy blue (possibly black) suit jacket, a white dress shirt and khakis. It was perfectly acceptable attire. What blows my mind is that she goes batshit crazy over this and yet somehow it's perfectly acceptable to talk about your penis size in a primary debate.

Everyone in the public eye is going to make a mistake every once in a while. i don't expect everybody to be perfect.

It's when it happens everday (coughtrumpcough) that I have a problem with it.

    context matters
Unless he said it another time he was referring to the immigration divide when he said:

    Quote:
If Latinos sit out the election instead of, 'we're going to punish our enemies and we're going to reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us' -- if they don't see that kind of upsurge in voting in this election, then I think it's going to be harder.
He tried to backtrack saying he should have said 'opponents' rather than 'enemies' but the damage had been done as evidenced by the elections in 2010 (about 3 weeks after he said that) where the GOP took back control of the house, gained 6 seats in the senate, beat 11 sitting democrat governors and gained control of 680 state legislature seats plus took control of 19 state legislatures.
