Re: ~Official Pearl Jam Appreciation Thread~
I just lived down the street from the Rock Hall for 2 years and went multiple times. For those that have never been, it's not just Rock music. It covers all branches of music. Rap, Country, Rock, R&B, Motown etc. I think "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" is just a general name it's been given, but the museum itself covers the entire history of music. There's a section that covers rap and has memorabilia from Biggie, Run D.M.C. and more. Plus, there's plenty of inductees that don't really fit the Rock genre: Madonna, Run, D.M.C., Michael Jackson, Isaac Hayes, Grandmaster Flash, N.W.A., The Ronettes and many more.
I would love to see PJ get inducted. I'd be interested to see if they'd even care, or if their attitude towards awards like this have changed. Eddie seems like a much more thankful artist these days.
As for Lighting Bolt, I'm a big fan of that album. I've taken the same approach to Pearl Jam as I do DMB. I've been a fan since the early days of Ten, but it's been 25 years, so everyone grows up and lives change, as does the music they produce. With that said, I can't get into Backspacer at all and consider THAT to be their worst album. Lighting Bolt is far superior to that album, in my opinion.
