Tupac was a major deal for music, but not rock 'n' roll. If the Rock Hall was a Music Hall of Fame then yes, he should immediately be in there. I know that's a tired argument but it's so true.

As for the other entries. PJ seems like the only one that is a lock to go in. The others are kinda...meh? (Not in meh in terms of their music but meh in terms of how much they shaped music history)

    1) I like Sirens. I like the slowed down McCready songs though (e.g. Come Back, Present Tense, Let Me Sleep, etc.).
    2) Speaking of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame...how the fuck is Journey not in already? That was the biggest surprise to me in reading all the PJ hall of fame news articles today.

Re: ~Official Pearl Jam Appreciation Thread~

I just lived down the street from the Rock Hall for 2 years and went multiple times. For those that have never been, it's not just Rock music. It covers all branches of music. Rap, Country, Rock, R&B, Motown etc. I think "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" is just a general name it's been given, but the museum itself covers the entire history of music. There's a section that covers rap and has memorabilia from Biggie, Run D.M.C. and more. Plus, there's plenty of inductees that don't really fit the Rock genre: Madonna, Run, D.M.C., Michael Jackson, Isaac Hayes, Grandmaster Flash, N.W.A., The Ronettes and many more.

I would love to see PJ get inducted. I'd be interested to see if they'd even care, or if their attitude towards awards like this have changed. Eddie seems like a much more thankful artist these days.

As for Lighting Bolt, I'm a big fan of that album. I've taken the same approach to Pearl Jam as I do DMB. I've been a fan since the early days of Ten, but it's been 25 years, so everyone grows up and lives change, as does the music they produce. With that said, I can't get into Backspacer at all and consider THAT to be their worst album. Lighting Bolt is far superior to that album, in my opinion.

Is that something that's known? PJ has actually admitted to those albums not being good? I'm honestly curious. I think Lighting Bolt is a great album. Not a fan of the actual song, and I'd say Swallowed Whole may not be a song I'm too into either. Other than that I think it's a great album from a more grown up band. I'm not looking for them to recreate Ten and Vs. over and over.

I'll support this take and counter with my own hot take.

Avocado is a better album than Binaural and Vitalogy. Come at me, bros.

Better production than Binaural for sure. I wasn't a fan of how Binaural turned out after hearing those tracks live. Insignificance and Grievance are far superior live.

Vitalogy had some GREAT tracks, but overall a train wreck to listen to top to bottom.

Therefore, I agree with you bro and will not be coming at you in the foreseeable future.

I completely agree. In my opinion, that album put Pearl Jam back on my radar. I love it now, but I was not a fan of Riot Act when it came out. Avocado was a breath of fresh air and seemed to dive back into their roots. Unfortunately Backspacer took the wind out of the sails for me, but I thought Lightining Bolt was an improvement.

Personally, that's my fav PJ album. I had heard Ten before but then I bought Avocado on a whim and loved it. Played it on repeat all summer 2006.

speculation is it will get an official release of some sort, and the longer the we get from the shows the more it seems that way. but no one knows anything for sure. for all we know they could just magically pop up today.

Wrigley will def get a release. Ithey said they were waiting for a good reason or something in an email

From the fan club email in September

All of the 2016 Bootlegs are now available on CD and Digital Download with the exception of the Wrigley Field shows (pssst, we have our reasons for holding this back for a bit).

Maybe like the DMB wrigley package. I'm hoping for vinyl.

on a bill simmons podcast that was published yesterday, in his introduction he stated that music from PJ's wrigley field show would be used for his lead in and lead outs, but also mentioned (in what sounded like ad copy that he was reading) what I paraphrase as "PJ is celebrating PJ 25 with a tour and cool stuff in 2016 and through 2017"

maybe a 2017 tour too? they were clearly advertising something
