I'll be there again, with no Scranton or Hershey this is the closest show for me outside of Camden. It will be my third year.

How easy is this show to get to from the city? I heard there was a bus that goes there. Any help is much appreciated.

NJ transit train - coastal line to the matawan station.

then you hop on a (school)bus that drops you off right at the venue.

runs for like 30-45 minutes after the show ends. I did it for luke bryan last summer. not bad, just obviously takes longer than driving since you have to wait

I like the venue. Seen DMB there twice now, and several country shows.

they've played some solid sets the past two years too.

My son is far from a set snob, so he will be over the moon with most people here would call a so-so set.

Agreed, but I think just wrapping my head around the fact that DMB is playing here 3 years in a row makes me happy enough.

Can you expand a little/compare to other venues (i.e. Hartford, Jones Beach or Spac, if you've been of course). What time do the lots open? Do most people use private lots, or is it a few big lots?

uhhhh it's nowhere NEAR Hartford. in any aspect. much calmer, although last year it got a little rowdy, it's still nothing like Hartford.

haven't been to JB. I'd say very similar to SPAC.

I can't remember when they opened, but they were late opening them last year. I want to say 4. Free parking, no private lots.

It's like SPAC in the sense that it's state property so troopers are out in full force, but just like everywhere else, don't be an idiot and you'll be just fine.


There are lots on both sides of the Garden State Parkway. Depending on where you are coming from would determine where I recommend you park. If you are going back north towards the city, i would ABSOLUTELY park in lot 3. Closest lot to the parkway and exits right onto the northbound lanes.

So no sense in really getting there before 3-4? I usually get to Hartford at 12 lol.

yeah i'm not sure about that. that early hell maybe no one is there and you can drive in. lot 3 is kinda separate from the rest of the lots/venue and you actually enter from the service road of the highway, so maybe you can. I just can't confirm or deny that.

Yup, BK lot for a couple of hours until the Midas lot opens and then we decide if we wanna move to the real lot when it opens.

oh lord the Midas lot. I had heard about this lot, actually met someone there last year to get a pit ticket. we will absolutely be parking there this year.

Just found out about it last year. We usually just do BK to the main lot, but a friend of mine was in the Midas lot, and my god lol. Out of control.

I remember I went to hartford N2 in 09, first time there. I was speechless.

I have been to hundreds of football games, college and pro, tons of concerts all over, and the hartford tailgating scene is the craziest tailgating experience I have ever seen. just unbelievable.

Agreed, and its not even close. Lees at SPAC is the closest I've seen and its still not close.

Excited for this one although a Thursday would have been much better. I'm doing Jones Beach the day before as well!
