LOVE Espolon blanco. That's one of the few tequilas where I prefer the blanco over their reposado.

If you do go to Zion be sure to hike the Narrows. Everyone will tell you to hike Angel's landing and while it is beautiful, I didn't feel safe as there were a ton of people using the chains and children running unattended everywhere. Or hike it super early in the morning when there are less people.

And if you're in to dinosaurs in any way the Cleveland Lloyd dinosaur quarry in Price is supposed to be awesome. We're hitting it on our way back from Moab.
I've been to Canyonlands and Arches, you rank Moab above those? Maybe you could offer up your Utah rankings??

I personally prefer the vibe of the town and surrounding areas, but if you going for a short hop and have done Arches/Canyonlands already then you're better off going to Zion and Bryce. Or you could do Bryce and Grandstaircase-Escalante. Lots of hiking, slot canyons, and beautiful scenery. Awesome red rock. Personally I'd do Bryce and Grandstaircase-Escalante over Zion. And it's going to be cooler down in the canyons.

And Moab is the nearest to Arches so you've seen what's around. We like to go there because we're staying for several days and hit the local dive bar for karaoke. And shop in the little record shop, etc...

Thanks for the insight. I'll have to do some research on those places. Grandstaircase sounds painful

There are also plenty of scenic byways with overlooks. It doesn't have to be full on extreme.

One of my favorite parts of my trip to Moab last year was driving the Colorado river byway. We'd pull off when we saw something pretty/interesting. We got lots of great photos.

Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions. And if you want any tips about SLC. The haul from Gorge is pretty long and this might be a good stopping point before you head south.

I think my favourite thing about southern Utah is the quiet, yet not quiet. You don't hear all of the city noise pollution and the nature sounds are turned up to 11. And the stars. Oh man the stars.

All the liquor/beer prices.... that is one good thing about Chicago. Booze is relatively cheap. And you can buy it pretty much anytime (although I don't think restaurants can serve it until 9 or 10am on Sundays).

In Michigan I went to college in a very conservative area - no alcohol sold or served in Sundays, no alcohol served in restaurants at all in the immediate town.

Whenever I visit my sister in Indy I make sure I have wine/booze with me because I always forget about the Sunday law.

Wisconsin has weird laws that you can't buy anything after 8pm or something.

I do not understand these levels of control lol

So strange. You should see the liquor stores here before a major holiday. Lines out the door.

One can purchase beer til midnight and liquor til 9 pm. You can purchase either at convenience store, liquor store or tavern as a walk out. There is one thing for sure......alcohol rules I Wisco. Not saying it's a good thing. Just is.

    Where's the new job?

And while I'm sure you will always appreciate your time and experiences in NYC, I bet your happy to be heading home to Texas. Now you can work on finding Mrs. Madpiker. Does Mrs. Deceit have a sister? Cuz she's pretty rad.

And while I'm sure you will always appreciate your time and experiences in NYC, I bet your happy to be heading home to Texas. Now you can work on finding Mrs. Madpiker. Does Mrs. Deceit have a sister? Cuz she's pretty rad.
it's an industrial lighting company in dallas. doing outside sales and territory rep stuff. i cant get away from commodities and consumables apparently haha

mrs madpiker is certainly more likely to be found in dallas. too much trouble and headaches up here i've had to deal with.

mrs deceit does have a sister but i got no time for that.
