I'll agree with everything but the last statement. Yeah, he was on the rebound prowl, but I hardly give that credit to the UNC win. Nova played awful. UNC played pretty well. UNC playing pretty well v. a team playing pretty well means that UNC is in for a battle. UNC playing playing well v. a team not playing well = UNC domination. That is what I saw here tonihgt. I think it had little to do with Frazior and the boards.

Assume he got none and Nova got all of his. They still couldn't score.

Well it's easy to say those things in hindsight, but both teams played pretty poorly in the second half. I may overvalue his rebounds tonight because it was really the only contribution he made, but at the same time, we don't know what would have happened. A lot of them were long rebounds that if grabbed by Nova could have easily led to transition points, which were about the only baskets they could buy.

Nova didn't shoot well, but the amount of bad shots they took early in the shot clock was ridiculous. Although North Carolina played very well defensively tonight, they were very rarely forced to play a possession for 25-35 seconds.

Any offensive performance you can get out of Bobby is a plus. And although he wasn't making shots, there was that three or four minute span where he pulled down three offensive rebounds that was fantastic.

The second half wasn't very pretty on either side tonight, but Ty Lawson, despite his struggles at the line, showed again why he is second only to Blake Griffin this year. And while I fully expect Michigan State to come out playing hard and well on Monday, if Ty and Wayne play as well as they did tonight I just can't imagine the Tar Heels losing.

As much as I respect Michigan State, and I really do because I can't remember the last time I saw a UConn team get beat on the offensive glass as bad as they did tonight, if North Carolina plays as well as they have throughout the tournament I believe they win. If the Heels don't, and Michigan State brings the same toughness and grittiness that they have, then it could go either way.

My thoughts on last night:
First half I was very pleased and they played really well offensively and defensively. Thank goodness Green and Ellington(my future husband btw) had a great night at the 3 point line. Bobby stepping up with the offensive rebounds was . Hansbrough's fouls were pretty dumb on his part. There were also some pretty silly/dumb things done with ball handling and passing.

Second half, ugh, not as hot as the first, but they got it done. I was getting worried when Nova came back and cut the lead down to five and thought it'd stay that close until the end.

For Monday, I might be concerned with foul trouble; not so much for Hansbrough because they can win without him being in for major minutes, but more so with Green, Ellington, and Lawson. Oh and free throws, c'mon guys you got to make them!

Overall, very pleased. Go Heels! and Congrats to MSU.

This is going to be a pretty epic championship game. It's an exact rematch of the game earlier this year. Yea, MSU got beat pretty bad.

MSU - they've got a lot of momentum. They've gone further than most anyone has expected and they've accomplished some great things. They've also got the home crowd behind them (as well as everyone who doesnt like UNC which is a lot of people).

UNC - just a monster, stacked team this year. They've got players that could have gone to the NBA, but stayed in college for this: to get the championship.


It's going to be a great game I think. Everyone is expecting UNC to win, but it WILL be a much closer game than the one earlier this year.

I expect UNC to win, but not for that reason. Anyone who thinks that Monday's game is going to be like the one earlier is stupid. A lot of circumstances went into the huge lead/win. MSU has proven they are a solid team. I agree it is going to be a very good game.

I think the crowd is going to play a HUGE factor in the championship game. Their effect was clearly evident in the game yesterday. It just gave them the momentum they needed to push them over the edge and keep them there.


But a crowd can't win a game and I think MSU's incredible run is over, especially against a team as talented and experienced as UNC.
