I have not been to a game. I really don't enjoy going to games that much even if I like the team.

The Metrodome area is a total shithole. Freeze your dick off tailgating, or cram into the one bar within walking distance.

That would be incorrect. He owns a part of the Packers.

I get that, but Minnesota has told the Vikings to keep waiting for 5+ years and that they'd eventually take care of them. Were the Twins more important to Minnesota than the Vikings? The Vikings were asking for a new stadium before the Twins or Gophers asked for theirs.

I don't know enough about the Minnesota economy, but will losing the Vikings hurt the economy in that area? It's not like they can play in the Metrodome much longer.

The Gophers stadium was built using about 10% of the public money that it would cost to build the proposed Vikings stadium.

The Twins stadium is in the heart of downtown, and will produce far more economic impact over it's life span.

    It's comparing apples to oranges.

A stadium is a stadium - it's not an apples to oranges debate.

Stadiums are so much more than just a place to watch games. They're massive short term expenses which hopefully becomes long term revenue and growth engines for the city. If you build the wrong thing in the wrong place you don't get the second part of the equation.

The argument in Minnesota tonight is much more about our new found hate of spending tax money on anything, rather than the long term goals of Minneapolis.

It certainly is, but that doesn't make it an apples to oranges discussion.

I would argue that investing in a stadium for the Gophers is a much better investment for the taxpayers of Minnesota then any of the other two since they are getting an educational value out of it as well

People blow money on dumb shit all the time. Spending $200 to say I owned the Steelers would not even be on my 10 dumbest purchases.

I've not been to a game at TCF, but everyone I've talked to loves it. It's also on campus, and isn't billed as a multi-use facility, which kept the cost way down.

If the built a open air stadium on the Metrodome site, it would make a ton of sense. They're trying to sell the new stadium as another Lucas Oil stadium, but Indianapolis is a vastly different place. They're going to be having 10 football games per year there and Monster Jam. Just like now. They're not going to get Wrestlemania, NCAA Finals, a Super Bowl, or massive trade shows that take advantage of the space.

I cannot see him making the team unless they plan on cutting 92. They'll live and die with the kids the drafted recently and rookie FAs, IMO.

I liked Matt Roth a lot in last year's FA class because I thought maybe being in Miami was just holding him back seeing as how he had a pretty breakout year for Cleveland. Then he sucked ass yet again. I would still take a shot on him though.

Roth played well in Cleveland I thought. Didn't really see him in Jacksonville but his stats look bad anyway. That's Jacksonville for you, though.

He'd be great DE depth. What OLBs are there? Woodley, Harrison, Worilds, and Carter/Spence?

I don't think he's enough of a LB to play in Pittsburgh. It seems to be at this point his best role would be a rotation pass rusher for someone.
