Definitive Versions of Songs

So since Live Trax 42 was announced I've been thinking about what the 'definitive' versions of certain songs are. If I Had It All from this release is widely regarded as the best version of the song (whether everyone agrees or not) just like the 2001 "epic wail" Seek Up is or like Two Step in the rain. Feel free to state opinions, but I'm asking what are the most famous, most highly regarded versions of songs, maybe not to you personally, but just in general. I'm trying to make a playlist with the best of the best versions of most songs (so ideally answer with officially released tracks)

Also, is that 30+ minute version of #41 with the flecktones regarded as the absolute best?

So far all I know is:

If I Had it All (9/14/2007)
    Seek Up (7/30/2001)
    Good Good Time (7/10/2004)
    Shotgun (9/23/2006) (?)
    Two Step (6/11/2001)

    Minarets 12/8/93
    Bartender 4/7/02 (or 8/19/08)

#41 from 4/20/02 is my favorite by a long shot, but I think you'd get some fight on that.

This list is the ones Ants voted on not too long ago for favorite live releases. I use it when I make playlists. But it's 3 years old now, so we may do another one soon. When the Perfect Live Trax is done I may start it up.

But here's the last list. It doesn't have every song.

I really like this idea. Revive this thread and go from there:

Jimi Thing: Central Park is widely regarded as having the best scat... if you can get past the clicking noise. I also really enjoy LT 18
    American Baby Intro: LT10
    Big Eyed Fish: LWS
    #41 - I really enjoy 6/1/09

I second that 4/7/02 Bartender. Still waiting/dreaming for the day that gets some love as a release. Would be cool as a Live Trax with the debut of YNK, too.

All this is debatable but my humble opinion would include What You Are from Central Park, Spoon from Charlie Rose, and You Might Die Trying from Wrigley Field

It is phenomenal, though for me, the Two Step here is probably on par:

The outro's cool, but the song for me is just way too untidy/chaotic. I don't think I've heard a full band version that touches the studio one (it's so clean and crisp), but I enjoy Benaroya as much.

Does anybody else think that Two Step from Central Park is their best Two Step? Butch and Carter are so locked in for their solos and it's my go to if I wanna hear a good Two Step. I was their for Two step on 6/27/2008 and while it was a great version, I can't see a Two Step with Tim, instead of Butch, as the best version.

A few that come to mind that haven't been mentioned:

Lover Lay Down 6/24/01 (released on the LT 31 bonus disc)
    Crush 6/7/08 (LT 13)
Tripping Billies 12/7/93 (might be 12/8 - that awesome one with the extended Nature intro & Tim)
    Snow Outside 6/27/14
    Hello Again 8/7/04 (LT 4)
    LIOG 6/8/97
    #36 Red Rocks

Two personal preference bonuses: Digging a Ditch 9/4/00 (w/ the Flecktones) and Typical from 8/2/00

Fair enough you like Benaroya better, but that's a pretty tight full band performance of the song

The Stone off LT8 is my favorite. Also love Warehouse off LT6, awesome Louie Louie interpolation and Rashawn totally crushes the solo in the salsa jam to bring in the outro.

    Two step - 6/27/08
I will forever argue that 6/25/08 is far superior, and is THE Two Step. I don't even think it's close. It's much more intense, not as rushed and has an extended outro. The crowd goes absolutely bananas.

To each their own, but as time goes on that version becomes less and less appealing to me. Oh, and 6/25/08 :-)
