Re: Fargo (New FX TV series)

Made me think of Battlestar when they came back from commercial and it was like nine months or a year later.

It makes the stakes a lot greater for Molly. Making her pregnant and whip smart makes her the corollary for Margie Gunderson even more.

I can't help but think Keith Carradine is gonna do some major shit in the final few episodes. He's way too recognizable to stay stuck behind a counter for 10 episodes.

Still watching. Thought the latest episode was good, Saw the whole Molly and Gus getting together thing coming for a while though. Really thought the episode prior where they did the tracking shot of all the windows was really cool.

I'm undecided on the time lapse as of right now, but it makes sense given how stagnant the investigation had become. I had expected Gus to come out as the hero of it all to make up for his prior blunders, but it's difficult to see that happening now that he's no longer a police officer. I'm obviously intrigued by Lester bumping into Malvo and now believe they'll be instrumental in each other's downfall.

The diner conversation between Billy Bob and Keith Carradine was the most suspenseful scene of the season.

They have done a great job with this show. Great cast, and there seems to be a lot of references to other Coen brothers movies.

That scene with Billy Bob and Molly's father in the diner was wicked suspenseful.

You would think Agent Lundy would know that he's talking to a criminal.

Hope we can get some follow-up of Stavros in the season finale. Don't think we've seen any of him after the car crash.

    Well, I got that right.

I too was underwhelmed by the finale. Glad to see Lester go out like a coward though.

FX hasn't given the go-ahead yet, but the show's creator indicates there will be a second season. He reports it will be an anthology series in the same vein as shows like True Detective and American Horror Story, meaning each season will be a standalone story with new characters.

Even with that said, I feel that there were too many vague references to the 1979 Sioux Falls incident for it not to be the setting of a future season. That would of course require younger versions of characters we've already met (most specifically Molly's dad) to appear in a prequel documenting the investigation of that case.

Very good season. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

I've seen a few reviews gripe that aside from Gus' misfire in the whiteout, Molly and Malvo never crossed paths. More specifically, they're upset she wasn't the one to bring him down. I thought it tied nicely back to the pilot, when Gus was afraid to confront Malvo.

I do question how Gus broke into and entered a cabin then lay in wait for an unarmed man who didn't provoke him and not only got off scot free, but with a commendation. I guess they want you to ignore that since Malvo was super evil.

Lester finally making it under the ice was still too nice a conclusion for that bastard. He was a wretched, vile, selfish hunk of shit, but I really wanted him to end up in a wood chipper after he turned his sweet second wife into a canary in a coal mine.
