I dig iced coffee even in the winter. I got the Ninja coffee bar thing for my birthday last year and it makes BOMB iced coffee.

Only problem with ice coffee around me is it's so fucking expensive. No idea why adding some ice raises the price like $2-3.

Hi, yes, we're going to replace half of your coffee with frozen water then charge you double. Have a great day.

Not sure that this necessarily accounts for the price difference, but generally the coffee used for iced coffee is brewed much stronger/more concentrated in order to stand up to the ice without tasting watered down, so when you're ordered iced coffee you're not getting the same coffee you are when you order a hot cup.

I still do not drink coffee. Pretty much off caffeine altogether. Can't remember the last time I had a coke.

never have drank a regular cup of coffee. I like iced macchiatos, lattes and espresso shots but thats it. I probably drink like 2-3 of those type of drinks a month.

I get there's a difference in brewing, but $2-3? C'mon . I mean, it's my own fault for buying it but the cheapest ice coffee around where I work is $4. So from Sept-Apr/May I can get a nice hot cup free at home or I can find them for $1.50-$2 around here, then from June-Sept I spend like $20 a week on coffee Annoys me but I'm too addicted to budget better haha

You should try cold-brewing at home. Very easy, very cheap, very tasty.

I've thought about it..how do you do it? Just make normal coffee and throw some ice in?

I don't know specifically how to do it at home, but the idea behind cold brewing is that you use cold water to slowly brew the coffee over a longer period of time (rather than hot water to brew quickly like normal) which results in a smoother, more balanced flavor to the coffee.

It's basically just dropping coffee grounds (whether loose or in pouches) into cold water, waiting like 24-48 hours, and then serving. If you pour the grounds directly in then you'll have to really strain the shit out of it. You should also dilute the finished project with water because it's very strong otherwise.

Coffee is gross. I'm sure that's a wildly unpopular opinion but I don't know how people drink the stuff.

It's an acquired taste for sure. I don't think it's wildly unpopular; know a lot of people that don't like it. I didn't drink it until like 5 years ago. And now that I'm addicted to caffeine and get headaches/hangry when I don't get my fix, I'm stuck drinking it But it is comforting in colder months, too. But hot chocolate can do the same thing so whatever floats your boat.

This. I drink between 20 and 40 oz of water on my drive in. Only get coffee once I'm settled in at the office.

Not really sure I agree that Coffee is an acquired taste.

Lamb, liver, olives... yeah sure. But coffee?

I know tons of people don't really like it, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it's an acquired taste.

Hopelessly addicted. I'll have a cup or two in the morning, always have one going at work, and usually an afternoon cup as well.

Probably hit Dunkin 3-5 times a week as well.

    I think it is.

Coffee beans smell heavenly, but its so bitter and flat your palate literally has to adjust to like it and taste the nuances between flavors.

I think of it alot like IPA and DIPA craft beers.

How many people do you know who liked it the first time as much as after they drank it often? I haven't specifically asked that question to friends but I'm sure the answer is close to zero. I get mine black, but when I first started I put a good amount of sugar in it to make it more palatable.

Acquired taste doesn't mean everyone will eventually like it; just that, like all things you mentioned plus tons more, you could grow into it.
