The greatest tragedy of the 25th anniversary DMB Live 25 release...

The Price? The Format? What You Are?

It's tough, but I have to go with the snub of Typical & Crush.

Personally, I'm good without either. I thought the trackless was stellar for a compilation release. I never in a 1,000 years would've guess Falling off the Roof and several other tracks.

This is probably unpopular, but I'd be good with them leaving Seek Up off the tracklisting.

I think Boyd has always been kinda shaky on the violin. Was listening to a random 93 show... 5/21/93 and on ants Boyd had some skrees for sure. And that was probably one his best years right?

There is a Copperpot video somewhere that begins with an old DMB recording where Dave is singing something along the lines of "she played with my hair like in a movie" then "no longer there". Does anyone know what song that is? I forget what Copperpot video had it, have had the melody stuck in my head

It's a shame nothing ever came from gas into fire. That little tease they released on the warehouse disc was fantastic.

I mean, technically, he starts every song as he provides the tempo and counts the band off. Stephan starts a couple, like Crush, because the bass player is generally also looked to for tempo. But that's just technically.

    6.20.2000 has an amazing encore

    #40 partial dave solo
    Bartender
    Ants

Seems like it was the only time Bartender was played full band in encore? Pretty good little version of 40, and that bartender/ants combo is an amazing way to end a show.

Nice overall setlist too. Midset watchtower and two step are always fun and the first full version Raven.

The first time Spoon was played full band, Carter wasn't on stage because he was attacked by crickets (8/13/98).

Just found it funny that something like that prevented the band from playing a song live together for the first time.

    Ok that's all I got.

Listening to John Mellencamp's "The Kid Inside" album this morning and several tracks (most notably Too Young to Live) have some horn on them and I swear I thought it was Roi playing. Had his tone and similar phrasing to his style. Wonder if there's any connection.

Definitely doesn't deserve it's own thread:

But I just moved outside the Pittsburgh area and I wish DMB was touring right now because I'm definitely in the market to catch shows at Burgettstown Star Lake and Blossom in Ohio. Possible a C-ville show if I'm really in a pinch.

I most likely won't be here next summer when they tour again proper, though.

Help Myself is a top 20 song. It needs to be brought back full band next year and played on a regular basis.
