I think there are other YouTube threads (music videos, funny individual videos), but none that really have this topic. I was hoping to have a thread more for using YouTube as entertainment alternative to cable.

For example, I probably watch at least a half hour of YouTube (or it's in the background) a day. I've developed a decent number of people that I'm subbed to that I genuinely enjoy their content. As much or more so than a LOT of TV. Even shows that I enjoy.

So, this thread is for discussion of people you sub to, new videos they release that you enjoy, discussion on types of YouTubers, drama, and anything of that sort. Complete random videos are cool with me too, but we do already have a 'videos that make you say WTF' thread.

One of my favorite channels is h3h3. Amazing content. I'm sure most people that are on YouTube as much as I am know about them, but he's a link for anyone that wants to check them out (this isn't necessarily their best video just a decent example).

I just think they are extremely funny.

When one of their videos first popped up on my recommendation page I was like "look at these two weirdos. I'm never going to watch their stupid video" well I clicked on it and I liked it haha. Now it's one of my favorite YouTube channels

I recommend the "can it?" Videos. Like can it Taco? or can it ice cream? They have so many and they are pretty funny to me. But all the videos are good IMO

Good idea for a thread! There are nights when I'll just spend hours watching things on Youtube. I love watching old NBA games, specifically Showtime Lakers era, but along with that I love watching videos about new gadgets. More recently I use Youtube for cooking and baking things. It's so easy just to follow along and end up with something that's delicious and makes me look like a decent cook.

So yeah Youtube is great!

I use it for DIY stuff around the house that I don't already know how to do. Pretty sure I could perform a heart transplant on myself by finding the right video on YouTube.

yea I've come to realize youtube ultimately is probably like one of the top 3 sites I have up of all my internet usage. just the ridiculous amount of old or new interview/discussion resources you can find... it's amazing. Soooooooooo much time can be spent.

At the same time one of the odder and more annoying trends I've noticed over the last couple years is in the comments section of a given pop song's video (or even just audio-with-pic) page. People love proclaiming how they found the song. "new Logan trailer brought me here!!" or whatever. A very odd thing to seemingly be proud of. well, that said, I'm pretty sure youtube could just entirely eliminate the comments section of everything across the board and the world would only (at least marginally) improve. Those things are truly where humanity goes to die.

He's entitled to his opinion and his comments while could be disagreed with were not unreasonable.

What my son got hot over was him being called a nazi for them. He's of the opinion that the left have been bullies and flame anyone who disagrees with them when people have a right to free speech.

And he is liberal in his views, he just doesn't like what he sees from the left right now.

Why's that?

I agree that companies that work with him are free to make business decisions for whatever reason they see fit, and he's admitted that he's certainly made mistakes but I do think he is a good guy.
