Re: Podcasts

Listened to the first 15 minutes of the Comedy Bang Bang's best of 2012. Did not laugh once.

Honestly Beefy I could see you loving the show. Its a tough show to dive into with no background to the type of show it is. I'd listen to a few full shows, and if you're not chuckling by the third, let it die.

I didn't find the Best Of show to be all that good either. I think the podcast actually works better as the long form hour long shows, rather than 5-10 minute "best of" clips from other episodes. Listen to episode 200 all the way through. You will not regret it.

Episode 200 is actually kind of a tough one IMO, only because there is a history between all of the characters and a lot of call-backs.

The Garry Marshall/Gillian Jacobs episode might be better, because they explain the backstory well enough.

It just fun situational comedy. All Improv all the time. I'll go through this week and find my favorites, most of which are Andy Daly, Paul F Tompkins, James Adomian ones.

Just go to the earwolf site sometime when you are bored and find guests you like and try them out.

listening to the Bob Odenkirk, Matt Besser Pope episode right now, him as the Pope is absolutely hilarious. Breaking Bad talk is always good as well.

I listened to part 2 of the Best Of and then I think episode 200 was my next episode. I definitely didn't have a lot of backstory going into it. But that character was just so damn funny.

You Made It Weird with Pete Holmes is pretty good. At least when there are guests that I'm interested in. I'm still going through the back catalog and picking out guests I like, but all have been good so far.

With guests I like I don't care about the length. But I probably won't ever to listen to ones with guests I'm not interested in.

Anyone listen to "Welcome to Night Vale"? Apparently it has absolutely blown up in the past few weeks and is now #1 on iTunes. Essentially is a Twilight Zone style podcast, twice a month, at about 30 minutes each, about a small non-existent desert town. So it is easy to catch up on. I'm going to start giving it a nice listen to see what all the hype is about.

Its a weird listen so far. Very scattered. I think I might need a better attention-span for it, but I'll give it a few episodes.

It is the kind of humor that Fallout 3 had, which I do like.
