And Margot Robbie is playing Harley Quinn in the Suicide Squad movie!

Cant wait to see Harley Quinn on big screen...I absolutely love the character, and am very disappointed that we didnt get to see Nolan incorporate the character to go with Heath's Joker. I actually think Leto is a solid choice for the Joker...and I openly disliked the casting of Heath Ledger initially, and he played the best villain in movie history.

Same here with Harley, and I think she is perfect for the role. After seeing Fury this past weekend, I am pretty sure we will be in for one hell of a ride with this movie, can't wait.

Really think this dude would nail that role. He's a great actor and I think he could make it very creepy.

I'm not too familiar with the Suicide Squad, so I'm always excited to check out a new comic book branch that I'm unfamiliar with. I have a basic understanding thanks to Arrow and Assault on Arkham, so I'm looking forward to checking this out.

Yeah man I think it's a great choice as well, my previous post was more mocking the people who (time and time again, it seems) rush to judgment on a casting choice like 2 years before a movie comes out. Just the height of stupidity and easily the worst part about Internet comic book/movie discussion.

It's stupid to think someone isn't a good pick?

I'm not saying he'll be bad, I just don't like him as the choice. But will give him a chance and still will see it.

It's stupid to think you can judge an actor's performance in a role that you haven't seen him play yet. Same deal with Affleck as Batman, I'm sure nobody will have trouble recalling the fake Internet outrage at that casting choice. This isn't the Schumacher Batman films, they're not going to botch up casting in the superhero genre anymore.

Exactly, that's why I say I'd give him the benefit of the doubt. But at first glance I don't like the casting choice, and that's not stupid. That's just an opinion. It's not saying he won't be great

Fair enough. That post was more directed at the trolls on the Internet that will bash a casting for no reason, I think that's incredibly stupid (like people screaming they wouldn't see BvS because of Affleck, etc.).

Ah, gotcha. I was thinking, "Oh bummer, usually Mike and I have fairly similar views" LOL

Yeah, the Ben Affleck casting announcement brought out some of the most ridiculous responses. I for one am excited to see how he tackles the role.

The Leto rumor has me pretty excited. If we can get a guy in the role of The Joker that is seemingly devoted to his craft the way Heath Ledger was, then I don't know how someone couldn't think that's a great idea.

We really can't say anything about casting anymore, after Ledger nailed the Joker role, it shows you that even the most unlikely actor can deliver an extraordinary performance.

There are a few instances where you know the actor can't nail it, like say they cast Keanu as Batman - that's one we know just wouldn't work. But for most actors it's very hard to say if they will or won't nail a role. That's why I'm reserving judgement on Eisenberg's Lex.

For all of the MoS nitpickers out there, if you've got 15-20 minutes to kill, this is a solid video addressing all the most common/annoying complaints about the movie:

Moreover, if we don't even know the concept/approach for a character, how can we judge choice of actor? We have no criteria

I don't have the minutes to kill, but does it address how drop-dead boring and unpleasant the last hour of the film is? That's the actual problem with MoS, I think. ("Plot holes" is generally just code for "I don't understand/don't enjoy serious fantasy movies as a genre")

What do you mean by unpleasant?

I didn't find the film boring at all, especially the last hour.

Loved the beginning, and it tailed down from there. Still pretty good overall, but other than papa Crowe coming back, nothing gave me a reason to be excited the rest of the movie.

I don't know exactly what it is, but something about that hour action block at the end just leaves me feeling awful. I'm not one for long, pointless action sequences to begin with, but something about the one in MOS really gets to me. It might be the carnage, it might be repetitiveness, I'm really not sure, but there's something about it I really don't like.

You're seriously trying to apply reason and logic to the concept of the internet at large bringing down judgement upon something they have no genuine context for yet?

That's about 80% of what the internet even is.

Here’s the pitch: “Years before the Superman legend we know, the House of El was shamed and ostracized. This series follows The Man of Steel’s grandfather as he brings hope and equality to Krypton, turning a planet in disarray into one worthy of giving birth to the greatest Super Hero ever known.”

Teen Titans as well - starts shooting next year
