Re: NBA 2011/2012 Season

Is there anyone who is claiming that Lebron broke rules of the CBA by signing with Miami?

As I said before, a good portion of the Lebron hate - well deserved in my opinion - was he chose to go to a perceived rival's (who already had a ring) team. This is not just the opinion of Joe Average NBA Fan, but a lot of former superstars/greatest players of all time.

    I do agree that the way LeBron surrounded himself with superstars was unconventional. However, that doesn't mean that Jordan never played with Hall of Famers, doesn't mean that Kobe never played with hall of famers. Now the way he handled it all, that's everyone's opinion, but nobody should use the fact that he joined with superstars to knock him. NO NBA Championship team was won by a team with one clear cut star like LeBron was with in Cleveland.

    1993-1994 Rockets had Hakeem and a slew of good supporting players.

    The only people who have any real justified reason to truely hate LeBron are people from Ohio.

    I think anyone can dislike any sports figure for whatever reason - just that Cavs fans probably have more reasons in this specific model

    Lot of good players besides Hakeem. It would be unfair to put LeBron's Cleveland team in the same category as that team. But the point is that it is very rare that championships are won without a significant team effort. LeBron probably was good enough to prove that he could get it done by himself in Cleveland, but I don't blame him for leaving.

    You said "NO NBA Championship team was won by a team with one clear cut star like LeBron was with in Cleveland". And the first of the Rockets' championships in the 90's had "one clear cut star" - Hakeem. I agree, I would have left Cleveland too because they didn't do shit to build around BronBron.

    I should have made myself more clear. I meant to highlight the fact that LeBron was miles and miles better than his teammates. I think Hakeem had a lot more help than LeBron.

    LeBron was a free agent. He didn't have ties to any 'others' in making his decision where to play basketball. The media and Cleveland tried to create a story where he owed the city to stay, but that was all bs.

    His legacy won't be tarnished at all.

    to leave completely and finally;

    You abandoned Detroit. LeBron abandoned Cleveland. He had every right to do so and whether people begrudge him for that is their thing, but to argue that he didn't abandon Cleveland is silly. He doesn't play for them anymore.
    LeBron could still go back to Cleveland, so I'm not sure how he left completely and finally.
