Personally, I'd suggest you see the 2D for your first viewing and then go see 3D. The 3D was cool, but not all THAT much different than the 2D.

Cloak and Hex are also great cause they're so colloquial in the HP universe. Has a nice ring to it, too. Some that I've seen are just weird and obscure.. ThornStorm for example.
This username situation I think is kinda weak, too. That you have to choose from a list they've created. I don't know, my best guess as to why they've done that, they figured just right off the bat they'd avoid ever even having the possibility of members creating even mildly inappropriate sounding names, probably having in mind that plenty of younger children will be on the thing as well.

I think that officially, the Pottermore people have said that this is basically the exact reason for the username thing. I don't mind it all that much. But from a logical standpoint they don't want someone's username as like "LosAngelesDweller45" or something inappropriate like ya said.

I got in the other day, but it was probably right. I got taken to the Warner Brother's website for HP7. You're supposed to find the magic quill there. Mine was in a bunch of photos of the movie. You find the quill and it takes you to the registration place.

It would have been nice to have a "Refresh choices" option for the usernames so you could get another random 5 to choose from if you didn't like any. I understand why they are doing it this way, even though it's a little annoying.

According to this, it will actually be somewhere between 12:30 and 3:00am British time, so it will be between 7:30 and 10:00pm TONIGHT for those of us on the east coast.

    http://windsor.patch.com/articles/pottermore-two-days-left-could-be-one-for-some-12

And in case you aren't sure, as I wasn't, when you enter the answer into the URL, you will probably be taken to another website (I was taken to a Sony website) that has an ad type banner and you have to click on the magical quill.

Or you can just try the links that I posted earlier on this page. I'm pretty sure those will work once registration is open, since it doesn't appear there is anything unique to them.

Well yea this is the other thing. It's like okay so you can't literally make up just anything you want, and ultimately I can understand their concern for avoiding anything too adult oriented, but then even on top of that you can't pick from anything on their whole list, you've got just 5 options to pick from. blech

    Congratulations!
You’ve successfully validated your early access Pottermore account. You will be one of the lucky few to shape the experience before the site opens to all in October.
You may have to wait a few weeks for your Welcome email to arrive as we can’t let everyone into the Beta site at the same time.
We look forward to seeing you.

Beyond stupid. Would it be so hard for them to approve the usernames?? Also, I mean, honestly, how many LITTLE KIDS are even going to be on this site?!?! All the "children" who grew up with this series, ARE GROWN NOW. I don't know why it annoys me so much, but it really, really does. Especially since as time goes on, these usernames are going to just get worse and worse. Blech.

Yea, this is another thing. It says we may have to wait a few weeks for the welcome email to arrive. So say it takes three weeks....we did all of this just so we can get into the site a month before everyone else?

Also, I just tried the links I posted earlier since registration is open and they didn't seem to work.

well Eric I'm glad you were finally able to see it. and I appreciate the thought and effort of you using the spoiler tag in your post, but I'm gonna say I think we're safely past that point now, the film's been out in wide release for over 2 full weeks now. EVERYTHING is up for grabs, no more spoiler tagging needed

Same thing happened to me, right around this time this morning. I refreshed it a few minutes later, and it said registration was closed. I think it must have hit its cap, just they didn't switch the main page over yet...

oh actually now you say that, the one time it went to commercial I saw the print at the bottom of the screen "Saturday night movie of the week" or whatever. so maybe it was on here last night too.

One of the smaller details I always found interesting, here in Goblet the way they portray someone communicating via fireplace is having the ashes just sort of form together to look like Gary Oldman's face when Harry's talking to him, so that for Oldman it's really just a vocal performance. But then in OOTP they update it so you actually do see his real face when they're talking to him in the fireplace (albeit having some kind of ghostly, translucent quality).

    right on brother

Another random small detail, while every Weasley family member is seen in the books, realize for the films technically they do cast someone to play the part of Charlie Weasley, the eldest child, but the only time he's ever seen is when Ron's showing Harry the family photo that was taken of them in Egypt at the start of Azkaban. Of course they finally enter Bill into the films in the last 2, but never get around to properly showing Charlie in the story at all.

But then in OOTP they update it so you actually do see his real face when they're talking to him in the fireplace (albeit having some kind of ghostly, translucent quality).
I always thought the fireplace gag was much better in Goblet.

well at least from a pure SFX standpoint, it is the more complicated and interesting looking version, of the two.

I just got a 'Congratulations' email from Pottermore ensuring me that I have been selected for early access, blah blah blah, and that I should expect my 'Welcome Email' sometime from mid-August to the end of September.. yay!

Later than I would have hoped... but yay!

I understand it's necessary, but I find it annoying that each book (at least so far, I'm on the third) has to reintroduce all the characters among other things.
