    The Godfather

it's been a while since I watched it straight though. It's still brilliant. In every aspect.

    Skiptrace

Jackie Chan, Johnny Knoxville, Reny Harlin directed. Look, it's not The Godfather. It's shot in China and Mongolia, and it's the basic plot of a Chinese Jackie Chan film, only in English for the most part. I'm not going to knock it for Knoxville, it's fine. Moments of 'the funnies', Jackie doing his stuff, and a reasonable plot. It's fine and worth the stream.

I tried watching Suicide Squad last night, kept dozing off throughout. Was pretty bad and Leto's Joker was awful. Doubtful I'll try watching again.

As a DC lover and defender, don't bother. If you made it through the first 20 minutes that was the best part of that steam pile. I don't know how anyone that saw BvS and didn't like it liked Suicide Squad. Unbelievably bad. I liked Leto, Smith and Robbie.

Watched Batman and Bill the other night on Hulu. Highly recommend it. I'll just paste what I posted in the DC thread.

If you are a serious comic book reader, a lover of all things Batman, and you have Hulu I highly recommend you watch Batman and Bill. It's a documentary about a writer, and comic book enthusiast, that came across the story of the uncredited co-creator of Batman, Bill Finger. He kept digging into the story and eventually his mission became getting Bill Finger the credit he deserved all along. It's an incredible heart wrenching, and eventually hopeful story. Be prepared to look at Bob Kane in a whole new way.

    Logan - 4.75/5
This might be the best Super Hero movie ever made.

    Kong Skull Island - 3/5
This was way better than I expected.

Zodiac was unbelievable, I'd probably give it around a 9/10 or a 9.5/10. Definitely one of the best movies I've watched in some time. There's nothing like a movie that just pulls you right into the time period and engulfs you into what's happening. The acting was just awesome, and I thought the obsessive nature of Graysmith was very fascinating and relatable. It was neat how the movie sort of rotated from the murders, to the investigation, to the obsession of catching him. I already want to watch it again.

Didn't get around to Michael Clayton, probably will this week.

Mentioning Logan reminded me that when I saw it in the theater someone brought their infant child to it. It's all good though because it only started crying a couple times during the movie. However, I forgot to mention this I think, but when I saw Aliens Covenant a few weeks ago I went on opening Sunday night at about 7pm and a lady sitting in about the 3rd or 4th row brought two children with her. When I say children, I'm guessing one was about 6 and the other was about 4. That movie is borderline horror and definitely rated R, so it shocked me that someone would/could bring young children to that. Serious question, is there a legit reason to bring children that young to a movie like that?

I remember when my wife and I went to see Prisoners when it was in the theater, there was this family that brought two little girls - about the same age as the little girls that got abducted in the movie - WAY inappropriate and I just sat there the whole time thinking "What is wrong with you people?"

At Alamo, kids under 6 aren't allowed at all, except at special baby day screenings.

I have seen X-Men 1-3, but none of the others (prequels, Wolverine movies, etc...). Can I watch Logan, or should I first catch up on the other movies?

Years ago I went to see the remake of Friday the 13th after dinner one night probably around ten o clock showing. The amount of children under six was shocking. I was sitting next to a four or five year old that was terrified and crying by opening credits. The person suppose to be his caregiver stood up turned around and shouted to the other movie goers " look my little n****** is scared" and laughed. It almost seemed as if I was witnessing a contest to see who can screw their kids up more in a two hour period. It actually became worse and ended up leaving.
Aliens covenant was good, but I really think they should have made a point to tell people it's really a prometheus sequel and not really an alien movie per se. I went with two people that hadn't seen the first and tried to explain it cause they were lost.

Baby Driver was solid. Had a lot of good action and insane driving (obviously). Also the soundtrack was good which makes sense since it's an integral part of the movie itself

In reading about the production of The Shining, Kubrick screened Eraserhead for the entire cast and crew to give them the right feeling and mood. Two things are very apparent.

    1. He didn't understand the book.
    2. He didn't understand Eraserhead.

Saw The Godfather in theaters a few weeks ago. It was really cool to see it on the big screen. Such a good movie!

The Big Sick. Very enjoyable romcom.
