in the books it's the tyrells / lannisters, it probably is retconned to be them in the show too, you'd imagine they sent someone out there after blackwater

Agreed. Idk if it will be him exactly as the books but in some shape. It only makes sense, Meera ain't dragging that sled from way up north all the way south.

Can we talk about the fact that she's only like 30 yards away from where Hodor just got nommed and she is going to get caught in .2 seconds? Is it realistic that Hodor would have slowed them down enough? Seems like they'll be caught almost immediately in the start of the next episode unless something big can turn the tides for her and Bran.

Also, Hodor could get zombified, right? Anyone think there's a chance that we get to see Zodor?

It depends how long he's been able to hold them off, probably not that long, but that storm was really whipping and the wights are pretty stupid. Nights king and the other walkers were still way back in the cave so maybe they could've gotten away a bit.

I think they'll be on their trail but they may have enough of a head start to get lost in the limited visibility. But no they probably won't make it that far without any other assistance.

Zombie hodor is definitely a possibility but we'll have to see. I'd like to think Summer blew up in that explosion that way we don't have to deal with an undead direwolf because that thing would be a beast.

I wouldn't be surprised if they just made that character out to be Benjen. Of course in the books, we know that's not the case, but the show obviously does things different. would easily knock out two birds with one stone.

and I also do think we'll see wight Hodor at some point.

he went out on a ranging mission and while the other members with him came back, he did not

despite only showing up for maybe two or three scenes in the book and show, people seem to love him and want him to play some huge role

No problem, I think that's the reason a lot of people want him to either A.) play a bigger role in things moving forward or B.) at least get some resolution as to what happened with him. Stark loyalty for many fans is strong.

nobody loves him. it's just a mystery where he is and apparently he was important enough that the Lord Commander brought half of the Night's Watch beyond the wall to look for him. His disappearance is more or less the foundation of everything that took place at the wall and beyond

if he's gone, he's gone. But his disappearance was a massive plot point in S1 and 2

because he's head ranger, probably protocol. would have been a normal trip had they not gotten attacked at the fist of the first men and multiple members decided to mutiny

Theres more to it than protocol, its a major cliff hanger in the books. Its not just some dude who went missing.

Re: A Game of Thrones (HBO Series)

I picked up something today in one of these youtube recap videos that, frankly I can't BELIEVE I didn't realize immediately. And it's the whole sequence of the play-within-the-show. I guess I was so caught up in how interesting and funny it was, to see this series have characters doing a very crudely dramatized version of itself (with many of the individual motivations all wrong, btw), it didn't hit me til later, it's no accident that Arya was given THIS JOB. To scope out this older actress woman to kill her, even if she wasn't herself "bad", and didn't "deserve death" or whatever. But that it was given to Arya as a test in of itself, could she bear to stand by and have a very encapsulated version of her past play right before he eyes, and still be able to let all of that hate and vengeance go, to truly become "no one".
    just brilliant.

well and it hit me right after I wrote that. I wonder what the chances are that that lady isn't a target of the Faceless Men at all, that the younger girl didn't hire them to kill her, and that they wouldn't engage in such a thing. but that it was ALL a set up merely to test Arya, see how much she still clings to her name.

yeah def not protocol for the lord commander to take a party of half the nights watch to find one person, first ranger or not. it was a major plot point

So benjyn = coldhands or is this just showing what happened to benjyn? I know the book is clear coldhands isn't benjyn but I can't tell what the show is going to doing.
