I'm going to be in Chicago next month and heard about a new restaurant opening there - Sushi Burrito (https://patch.com/illinois/evanston/...location-opens)

It's a fusion place, and the reviews look to be pretty good. How does a sushi burrito sound to you?

Just looks like an uncut sushi roll...

So yea, I'd eat it.

The question is, do they pass the savings of not cutting it onto the customer?

I doubt it, the Melting Pot is expensive and the customer does all the cooking.

I was just there for the first time ever last night for my sister's bday.... that place is so overpriced, and it flat out isnt good.

As far as the burrito, no thanks. I like sushi alot actually but I still can only eat like 1-1.5 rolls in a sitting.

That's not fusion. That's an American bastardisation of two proud food cultures. There's a difference.

There is a food truck by my work that does this, except that call it a Poke Wrap. Always delicious.

Its not the amount, its like a texture thing or something. I just cant get a big appetite for raw fish even though I like it.

Vietnamese food has many french influences. Is that OK since it was so long ago?

there can be a very thin line between "innovating" and "insulting" when it comes to cuisine. Ozumo seems like it would not disappoint.

I know, I sound like a dick. Personally I love sushi and the history behind it, the simplicity, the effort into making the rice the most important part. Nowadays forget it. Most places around me are filled with 10 ingredient maki rolls with 3 different sauces that spell "fucking idiot" in cursive on the dish. So my aggravation with the direction "sushi" is going is clearly hitting a nerve lol grrrrrrrr i'm so so mad rofl
