I listened to Funeral for the first time in a while this morning and forgot how great it was.

and of course, they play great concerts. i've seen them twice, first time we all stormed the stage at radio city. 2nd time was at randall's island, they plyed a second encore in the crowd, just acoustics with no mic. great fucking concerts.

I take NB over Funeral. I think that Black Wave/Bad Vibrations is the only flaw on the cd.

I think I've decided that Neon Bible is not my favorite album of 2007...but of the entire decade. Listened to it today for the first time in a while and it just hit in all the right spots.

I was hoping for a lot of concert footage but I was totally let down in that department. They only showed them playing a couple of songs live.

Most of the DVD was them walking around a park, or Win plinking away at his acoustic on an elevator, or their pre-show rituals that include laying down on the ground all together. Also, hardly any interviews if I recall correctly. It's mostly just them trying to be "different". Don't get me wrong, they're in my top 5 bands, I just don't get kicks out of watching Win's brother stroll around and look at churches. Didn't mean to make this post sound like I don't like them, because I really really do

But you're better off just going the the "ArcadeFireTube" channel on Youtube if you want to see live footage.

My post/description was exactly what you were looking for, or the DVD contents (ie. them doing random stuff on camera) was exactly what you were looking for?

Does anyone know if they are planning a big summer tour this year? I keep hearing them in all the festival rumor threads and I was wondering if they'd mentioned their plans?

No idea. I've heard that the tour is suppose to start in late summer or early fall, but that was just speculation I think. I got it from an AF message board.

I believe I remember hearing they were aiming for a May/June release date for their album and a summer tour accompanying that. I'm pretty sure it was a Billboard article or something but sorry, I can't seem to find a link right now.

YES! This is the performance that got me into this band. Are you saying you need to listen to them immediately as in, you have never listened to them before, or as in you need to return your favorite album, Neon Bible, to the turntable?

I listened to Funeral awhile ago, as in, a couple of years ago, and enjoyed it, but wasn't blown away, but now I'm starting to think young me was kinda dumb. I just downloaded Neon Bible and Funeral and plan on listening to them soon.

Funeral has great songs on it (Rebellion, Tunnels, Power Out, Wake Up, etc.) but I feel like Neon Bible is the better produced record (and has great songs on it to boot.) Bible just has a darker, more orchestrated sound to it and stands out more in my opinion.

I dont know why I quoted you - I just wanted to say that.

Right on. I'm a bigger fan of NB, but recognize that I'm in the minority. Both are great albums.

Yeah I definetely think Funeral is better than NB these days. Funny how that can happen in a couple of months. But regardless both albums are stellar.
