On the the April Sessions the "Searching all my life" is turned up and you can hear it loudly. You can still hear it on the released version but you must listen closely to decipher it from "searching for tonight."

I'm nearly 100% sure they are the same takes as the April Session versions. They just got duplicated and thrown in at the end for some reason. They have different times but it is only because each of the duplicates have about 8-10 seconds of silence tacked on to the end of the track. Other than that they sound identical to me through my headphones (I have a pretty good pair too).

ummm so maybe this has already been answered, but where does the listening party cd come into all this...

i know its different than the final release, but is it also different from the april sessions? or is this the same cut as the pandora stream, just burned on an album?

Thought I would post this here. In that video with the Canadian kids from a while ago where they got to hear Grux and Shake Me? Grux has a lot more percussion going on. It sounds really cool, too. Too bad it didn't make the final cut.

Shake me sounds the same on both versions, but I think funny the way it is is a little different in the 2 versions, notably the opening notes.

I was able to replicate the OP's canceling out of the 2 versions, I'm going to try and figure out what the backing vocals were. It's actually kinda cool how everything cancels out pretty well except for some percussion here and there, and the violin just comes in perfectly clear, almost like one of the versions has a lot of post production work done on it just as the OP stated.

Re: Differences between April Sessions and released BWGGK

Okay think I've got it. It is similar to the april version of "Seven," where dave is improvising jibberish because the lyrics are not yet finalized. He says something like, "Oh eh, ee ah oh ee ah oh oh eh.... inside of............... stars" All in the correct tune and tempo of the actual lyrics. So it's probably an early vocal track that dave improvised while he was still working on the lyrics, and they just decided to use it as a backing track.
