How to rip Busted Stuff?? - Antsmarching.org Forums

I did a search, but it came back with no results.

The Busted Stuff CD I have (and I'm guessing all BS CD's) is enhanced CD. It loads a splash screen when it's inserted. However, I can't get it to play on my computer, and I can't get it to rip the songs. It doesn't matter what program I use, it won't work. I'm sure many of you rip the albums to your hard drive to listen to without having to insert the CD. How did you do it if at all? If no one can help, I am going to download the album from the official site... I didn't want to have to buy it twice... y'know?

As much as I relish in people doing obscenely stupid things, that right there's not just stupid, thats sideshow stupid. So I'll answer

cdex usualy lets me MP3/Wave cds with extra info on them. EAC should let you encode to wave also. search CDex on yahoo along with Exact Audio Copy.

If they dont work, and this threads still here, say what exactly is the problem with those programs.

I don't remember exactly but I think I used a normal audio CD to get the Windows Audio Player running, then swapped CDs. When it starts playing BS just choose the option to copy media.

Am I the only one who closed the extra screen that popped up and ripped it with Windows Media? I think I pushed esc. and then just closed out of it.

I had trouble ripping BS too. When you pop in the disc and all that crap pops up, just close it. Then open your Windows Media player and 'Copy From CD'. There should be no problem.

Me too. No problem except it ripped the data part too, and makes this horrible sound when it hits that track. I just deleted that part and it plays fine.

Musicmatch works, and I have the old school version

Edit: if that doesn't work, I know this will take longer, but you can open your CD burning software first and save the files to your hard drive (as if you were making multiple copies) and then convert those files to mp3. Think outside the box man, don't just go around wasting your money like that.

i did it with EAC. it's free, and you should use it if you trade shows as well.

just insert the cd, open up itunes, and click import. its very easy. if you don't have it you can download it for free at www.apple.com

Sweet. I've never checked out iTunes. I just thought it was a place for downloading music. I will try that. I tried musicmatch, but it wouldn't work.

iTunes is also a software, music management program not just the DL site. It works pretty good, I've never had a problem with it.

It's not working. I am upset... but I'm going to keep plugging away. Here is proof.

First... proof that I am using an official CD:

EAC - Note the arrow at the bottom saying "Not an Audio CD" yet it shows all the tracks. This is the only program that shows that songs even exist on the CD:

Flipping weird. I am downloading something now... CD'n'Go.

Just installed. It shows the tracks too, but it doesn't work.

Apparently there's something wrong with either my CD or my PC configuration. I'd think it was the drive, but it doesn't work in either of my drives. I will try on another PC tomorrow...
