Speaking of sequels... Did anyone notice when they went back to their dilapidated home that there was a broken glass jar with "Mothra" written on it?

My impression is number two will have a Mothra tie. Perhaps a positive Mothra and a bad Godzilla. The boys childhood "pet" returns. Reminds him of his mother that he lost in accident.

I don't get what some of the hate is all about. I thought it was a well-done "tentpole" movie. It really reminded me of the 90s when movies weren't shit blowing up from start to finish. It actually took 30 minutes to set up the plot. Sure it had its flaws, but it was entertainment.

I wish they'd make for summer movies like this.

But yeah, this looks good. Japanese/Toho are claiming that this Godzilla will be bigger and badder than the American version.

I disagree. Looks like a classic Toho Godzilla movie. Just add some poorly dubbed English and randomly insert today's equivalent of Raymond Burr into some scenes, and it's golden!

Right on. Looking forward to seeing this kid in more stuff. Hopefully the gut feeling is she'll be good on her own without the whole great casting and writing stuff.

Rightly so I think. I'll probably like most anything Godzilla just out of pure fanboyness of the character but I agree that was a well done film. Sorry to see he's not doing this but happy it's being made. Can't wait to see who they cast as Steve assuming it'll stick closely to the original.

Someone tell me Krampus was done well at least for what a director could do with it. Didn't see it, can't really imagine seeing it. I like the idea that he's a horror guy but that list of credits... eek.
