It pisses me off I can't play my WipEout PS2 game on the PS3, I do enjoy throwing on the PSOne versions to see if my piloting skills are still honed on those courses.

Of course I think in all cases BC is waived as it will have less effect on market penetration as it does MSRP of the console, which DOES have a big effect on market penetration.

PS4 isn't either so I'm not sure why it's surprising.

The only thing I want is to be able to transfer arcade games and save files. Give me that and I won't mind rebuying a couple classic games.

I wonder how much it would have cost to add that for Xbox One. Obviously the new disc format is Bluray. Not sure what format 360 uses, or what the cost would be.

Hopefully the next Xbox and PS5 can be backwards compatible if consoles still exist.

i wouldn't say no one....(i don't specifically want to, but there are many, many people addicted to twitter. there's people that access facebook through game consoles...twitter i'm sure will be no different

I just feel like if I really have a pressing urge to tweet something while playing a game, I'll just use my phone. It's probably 10x faster anyway.

360 uses 12x speed DVD.

I am not sure what the cost would have been per unit, but drastically less than adding PS3-BC to the PS4.

Honestly, I think the general reaction would be that they did well. Same specs as a PS4. More services at first glance. Will be a great streaming device, which is something they already kick ass in. Games will be there but that wasn't what this presentation was about.

In regards to compatibility, unless you've been under a rock you HAD to have expected that. Pretty sure they all but announced that.

I don't care about all the extra crap, I just want good games. I have a computer for a reason. The only extra feature I use on the PS3 is Netflix. I wish these new systems would have cheaper stripped down versions.

I thought I read PS4 wouldn't be backwards compatible by disc, but you could play previously bought games using some kind of cloud technology? Is that not right? No matter what, I don't see myself buying one of the new consoles for at least a few years.

Not specifically, but it'd make zero sense for them not to do that. I assume your Live account carries over and you have all the same content. I'd be amazed if that wasn't the case.

I don't think that's going to be for PS3 games though, most likely PSOne games and PSN games.

my cousin is a big gamer and he was delighted to find out the new xbox will carry over stats and other stuff from the 360. I have no use for that, but some people seem to like it.

The Xbox reveal sealed the deal for me. I like the innovations more than what I saw for the PS4. Just integrating my cablebox is an amazing feature.

At this point as long as I can play EA Sports and Rockstar that's all I care about gaming-wise for the most part. I am more concerned with the non gaming specs.

I think it is hilarious that people are criticizing the Xbox for focusing on TV. You're really missing the larger point. The games will be there, but that's just not how they will diversify from other platforms. This presentation was to focus on what this new Xbox brings to the table, we already know we will get to play games on it. Just because they focused more on the overall capabilities of the device doesn't detract from the fact that it will have games as well as pretty much the same specs as the PS4. They needed to show how they were different. They did that.

If I got this (definitely not immediately), I would definitely use this through my cable box. I think that'd be great, especially with how good all of their streaming services are already. They've proven they can do these kind of things well already.

Presentation was tons better than the PS4 one.
