It seems like Dave and Tim would play at Red Rocks sometime...seems like about the right size for one of their shows.

I dont see dave coming to Colorado any time soon. I was there last time he went to Colorado, for the 2003 tour. Someone threw a hunting knife at him on stage and it stuck in the stage during watchtower. I really wish he would come to Colorado again. Especially Red Rocks. Best venue to see a concert, saw Mayer and Maroon 5 there.

They don't need two tours to support an album. Not saying that there won't be a winter tour, just that they don't needone to support the album.

you will not see dmb at red rocks again till they are on the downhill slide and not selling out ANY 20k seat venue

Just a little tip. When a rumor comes out, don't choose to believe it or not based on what you want, choose to believe it or not based on logic and facts. Logically, it doesn't make sense for DMB to play Red Rocks. I'd be very surprised (and don't get me wrong, I'd be excited, too) if this rumor comes true.

I'm sick and tired of articles like this that throw in 1 sentence rumors. They have been saying recently stuff like pink floyd is going to reunite...no source of course..

I'd love for this to be true though. I agree with people saying this would be a loss of money, but a 10th anniversary release might make up for that

D&T could sell out 20k seat arenas if you ask me
they only stick the the small theaters because its "romantic"
it would actually be cool to have a arena tour anyway so people could actually have a chance at getting tix

then where would they come from?

I would drive from KS for the X night stand.

If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, it doesn't. That's my logic.

The Dead as well as many other big bands play multi-night shows at Red Rocks. Is the Dead's following as big as DMB's? I don't know.....

I read this article on my way home from snowboarding yesterday. I hope this is true. If it is tickets will be very hard to come by. I hope it is a 3-5 night stand...I mean five nights would make up for the last two years right?

And as Adam said The Dead played 5 night stands the last two years here at RR......so it could happen

Right size venue for D&T, but it's a summer venue. Summers usually go to DMB. D&T tours usually take place in the winter or early spring, so it's not very likely D&T will play this venue in the near future.

just because the dead is stupid and wants to play 5 shows over 1 doesn't mean dmb will
with a manager like coran I COULD GIVE A cRapshaw about the fans i highly doubt he would set up any shows at RR knowing they could play a venue and have it be much more cost effective

No one threw a knife at him. That's a bunch of crap! Why would anyone do something as stupid as that? Plus, with 20,000 people there, how did not one person see a person do it???

What happened was one of the maintainence guys accidently dropped a knife while they were in the rafters. Was an accident, not something intentional to hurt anyone.

acctually dmb's management has denied this, i believe there was a post about that on these boards.

edit: This is impossible. NONE of the DMB staff are allowed in the lighting truss during the performance unless there was an emergency, and there wasn't anyone in the truss that night. There hasn't been any leads or conclusion to the incident.

Red Rocks fits somewhere right around 9,000. And it's true a lot of big bands consistently play multiple nights at Red Rocks each year. I'll wait to believe anyting until I get confirmation first though...

I'm from Colorado and I've never seen the band at Red Rocks, but there is something about the announcement of tour dates that is bugging me. This will be the second year in a row that I will driving to New Mexico to see the band. If they are going to playing Colorado, I wish they would announce it when the rest of the dates are released. With a baby on the way, I don't have the money to see them twice this year and I will be upset if I get tickets to New Mexico only to find out after I purchase them that they are adding dates to Colorado.

I understand that not all tour dates can be finalized at the same time. But I wish that the warehouse request time lines didn't force me to order tickets before all the dates are announced.

Every year we get a new Red Rocks rumor. Calling this potential run an "anniversary" is like calling today the one week anniversary of last Sunday, as the band has played there in 93, 94, 95, 97 and 98. I don't see it happening again unless it's part of some special, multi-night stand seperate from the tour, the venue just can't hold the crowds in anymore.
