That being said this author is conveniently forgetting the color scheme of Suicide Squad which was the brightest neon color palate I've ever seen in a movie. And that movie sucked. And she's also forgetting about a good portion of MoS which took place during the day and in the sun.
People will say or do anything for clicks these days. Sad!

I'm with you - but I think it's interesting to read opposing opinions.
I know I'm a massive DCU apologist (though SS was meh at the upper range). But movies are planned. Themes, arcs, stories, are planned. Especially when you're giving one guy (ZS) keys to the kingdom of one of the biggest (potential) franchises of the 20teens.
That said, BvS was always - always going to be dour and bleak, and dark.
That said, JL will have some of that...but eventually (and I think specifically) when Superman returns it will be dawn. That shot panning the whole League will be the money shot of his return and full formation of the team. That shit takes place at dawn. Either just having succeeded in warding off the threat - or about to kick ass.
Superman will bring light and "fulfill" Jor El's monologue. "You will give the people of Earth an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun, Kal. In time, you will help them accomplish wonders."
Zack Snyder is a lot of things, but he's also super fuckin passionate about this IP. He's going to bring this deal full circle, and I really hope/think it's going to kick ass.
