To the people complaining about this show being too similar to the DMBLive release: is 7/27/04 not extremely similar to the other released '04 shows we have? Just a thought.
They're actually quite different, setlist wise and also what was already mentioned, how the 'new' songs evolved over the course of the summer. I'm also biased, because I was at the Atlanta show and remember thinking how great it was, especially Captain.

As others have said, the tape of this show is fantastic, as is the show itself. People who are upset because they assumed it was one show and got a different one shouldn't assume things so much.

A fantastic tape is not going to compare to a properly mixed and mastered soundboard of this show.

This is a release, that if done right, could stand up to Luther College. I'm excited about this release, and hope there's a bonus disc with other D&T highlights. Who knows if the 04' rumor is true, but in that scenario it makes sense to release it later in the year. They are going to be selling this LT at the D&T shows this summer.

I get that LC is a fantastic show and beloved release, but can we get over the idea that because it was first it's the best? Same goes with RR95.

    Re: Live Trax Volume 41 D&T 3/13/99

This is exciting. Cool to have an official mastered release from 1999. I like tapes but I think this will be a pleasant surprise sound wise still. It will sound better than 3-3-1999 because it can be multitracked and mixed better. I may be wrong but the DMBlive stuff is usually just a mastered soundboard tape.

I get there are only 2 guitars and 1 vocal here, but they can still have more options with microphones, direct ins, room mics etc... It should sound as good as the other DandT LTs, and hopefully as good as Luther College or Radio City (though that might be stretching it).

    Re: Live Trax Volume 41 D&T 3/13/99

It also seems that the LT releases don't consider tapes that are widely available as much as DMBlive does. DMBlive does a pretty good job of releasing stuff we don't have access to. LT seems to be more concerned with releasing "quality" and or unique shows however they gauge those things (which seems to be different than us fans some of the time).

This show blows away Luther, IMO. There are multiple shows from the same tour in '96 that do too.

I was really just commenting on the actual audio of it. Luther is about perfect for a live acoustic album.

Interesting opinion you have though. You'd be tough pressed to find many other people here who think that way. Luther College and Red Rocks 95 are probably the 2 most raved about releases from this band. I do think the 99 shows are more interesting, but it's comparing apples to oranges considering the BTCS songs weren't written in 96.

    Good show. Will probably buy.

    I was really hoping for a 2014-2016 D&T release. Maybe they'll bundle this with LT 42, 1/17/2015.

My apologies if it has already been commented on but I am a little surprised about this being a D+T release and not full band especially considering this is the 41st release, if you attach anything to that. Also as pointed out in the 2nd post, surprising #41 does not appear in the set.

Not complaining at all im just surprised I guess.

Imo 1/27/99 would have been a better pick, the little thing and deed is done on there are both raritities with alternate, one off lyrics....it's a very inspired set , and there's not a great tape out there of it......I've been wanting this forever, guess I'll be waiting

I will never understand why so many people here keep assuming the 41st LT needs to have #41 on it. That's some #dMbFamily logic right there.

It makes much more sense to release this now instead of the HiFi Show. The setlist is as good as it gets and I don't care that there's a tape out there, or that there's a Dmb Live from 10 days earlier. I'm definitely buying it.

Not really. It's one of their most iconic songs that has been played and released steadily throughout their entire career. Odds are any release would have it.

Agreed with dontdrink. It's like they went out of their way to avoid it. It absolutely doesn't NEED to be on the 41st LT (we have more than enough 41's... another one isn't really necessary). Just seems like they tried to find a show where it wasn't played. It was played at most shows that tour and was cut from that very show.

    B) we went from never getting 7.27.04 as a release. There was never an announcement for the show you mentioned. As for a slap in the face, you're insane if you think this show isn't better than anything from 2004. You should slap yourself in the face for even saying that.

    What is your deal?

It's your own fault for expecting something that was NEVER ANNOUNCED. Get a grip on your life, bro. You're legitimately upset because of.... what? You didn't get what you wanted? Write management and outline your frustrations. Maybe you'll get it for LT42.

That's your opinion and many would disagree. I would much rather have a full band 04 release than LT41
