Re: ***Official Chicago D&T 2017***

Seems paying for parking was hit or miss and depended on where you parked. I parked in the soldier field garage which was supposed to be free after 4, but they still charged some of us $50 to park in there. Not sure about all the other areas

Yeah there was free parking at soldier field. I remember that. I'll be a hotel right near by that gives me free parking from my rewards so luckily I can just walk over.

Some shows I've had parking included in the north Soldier Field ramp there, other times it hasn't been.

In 2014 for DMB the first night we just cabbed over from the Loop. The 2nd night we had a big carload so we just sprung for the $50 for the VIP parking in the Planetarium lot right outside the entrance and tailgated there all afternoon, which worked out great. I honestly had NONE of the problems that everyone complained about with getting in and out for those shows.

But honestly your best bet (unless you want to do the VIP parking and tailgate) is to get a parking space somewhere nearby in the South Loop - use the SpotHero or Park Whiz apps. Pregame down there somewhere, and then Uber/Lyft over to the show (or walk - about 20-25 mins.) Getting an Uber *after* the show near the venue is impossible, so just make the walk back over to your car from there.

At farm aid the stupid folding chairs got all moved/pushed around. It was nearly impossible to get down the row or have anywhere to stand. Really annoying.

This happened where I was in '14 too. All the folding chairs were zip tied together & it caused the rows to snake around willy nilly. By the end, there were like 10 rows all pushed together and all the people from those rows squished closer to the center forming a mini pit. Super uncomfortable & pretty much a shitshow.

This made me think of going to the show at Comerica Park and everyone started cutting or burning the zip ties and then began passing chairs back until a large section of chairs were removed making a PIT like space as well.

You're literally the first person I've ever known to complain about their sauce being too sweet, or even allude to it. And I lived in Chicago for 28 years.

I've only ever had their pizza once. They're kind of a locally-based chain right? I see a lot of locations. It was a couple years back, I bought lunch for my team at work because they beat some goal or something, and one of my consultants was raving about Aurelio's and asked if we could get the pizza from there. They had a location about a 15 minute drive away so I said sure. It was the one in south Naperville off 75th street. So maybe it was just that location or something but, I just thought the sauce was incredibly sweet, and I definitely prefer my sauce more tangy. I know a lot of people like a sweeter sauce so it's just a matter of preference really and the pizza was fine otherwise but, I've never ordered again from them.

There are people that get great seats on the boards and those that don't...you get the point.

It seems that every year for a while now the Warehouse has been getting worse and worse seats as more tickets get allocated to things like Citi card presales, premium packages, etc. But there still are decent WH seats out there.
Thats kind of what I thought. I appreciate the response.

    Everything sucks in Naperville.

I can't speak to that one. South Loop location is where it's at.

Man all of this hotel and parking talk makes me feel very relieved to not have to go through all of this. I just have to walk 2 blocks from my apartment and hop on the Brown line, transfer to the Red line at Belmont, then get off at Roosevelt and nice little 1 mile walk over to the venue. $5.50 transportation costs round trip each night and I get to sleep in my own bed.

The 2014 and 2015 flyaway weekend shows were released as Live Trax holiday releases (Berkeley and Alpine), but that pattern ended last year.

It's the only major city that was really announced other than Nashville. Makes the most sense.... maybe jones beach? But it's only one show

Pumped for these shows! I know its been said in here already but damn, can't believe they chose this venue. I had lawn in 2014 and it was one of the worst concert experiences in my life. Told myself the only way I'd go back to the venue was if I had seats. Saw Chris Stapleton there last summer and had seats and it was SO much better.
