We listened to at least one of the books on CD... can't remember which one. It was on a long car trip... may have been Cville 2009?

Yeah, I don't have time to read through 7 books, but I have two hours a day I can listen to books while I commute.

oh and please tell me you got the British versions. I guess Jim Dale's alright and everything, but I simply can't imagine not listening to Stephen Fry reading to me in these dozens of different voices.

Although admittedly, when I first heard about Jim Dale as reading the "US" version, I thought it meant he read it all in an American accent, and I'm thinking my god, that's just sacrilege. But then I learned he's a Brit as well, it was just his were sold here in the states, Fry's sold in the UK.

Wow all this time I thought I was familiar with all of the deleted scenes from Part 1, there's been that sort of combined packet of them out for awhile now (including Ron & Hermione throwing stones, Yaxley at the Granger house, Harry talking with both Petunia and Dudley etc) but I've only just now found even a couple more.

here's one that's not even really in the book, all things considered I'm surprised they bothered filming thing. It's somewhere in all the time the trio is out amongst the woods, it's just Harry and Ron chasing a rabbit (presumably to kill it for dinner?) but it devolves into this playful chase and wand hits exchange between each other, resulting in a very awkward ending where Ron seems to straight up attack Harry in the face. and I recognize a couple of shots from it from that very first teaser trailer at the MTV awards a couple years ago.

Oh my god. Perfect hardly describes it! This is the best fan made vid I've seen. You've posted some really, really good ones Annie but this takes the frakking cake. It's literally seamlessly edited and made. Sighhhhhhh

and I really like 30STM, what a perfect song to put it to. I love how they assigned each character a title thingy at the beginning

I know, right?!!!!!! I thought the song was perfect, and the quality is impeccable. And ohmygod, the end where it shows everyone "then" and "now"... not gonna lie, I got a bit misty-eyed. Glad you enjoyed it!

Any HP video with a "then and now" technique is always really moving, but man, did this one in particular strike a cord. Quite emotional.

Finally saw the movie today. Feel sad. This is the first movie in the series that I didn't see opening day/weekend, I have been dragging my feet because I knew I would feel this way after I saw it. I reread the last 2 books for the third time this July and rewatched the first half of the hallows last night. The movie was very well done, imo. Plan to see it one more time next week, sans children.

Now I can back read through here.

So it's been brought to my attention, technically if you go by the proper timeline that's actually in the books, today, September 1st, 2011 is the 20th anniversary of the first time Harry rode the Hogwarts Express

Seriously, I read this update somewhere, but last week they had like 105,000 people in... how they'll get to a million in a month... i have no idea. the only way is if they really open the floodgates at some point.

if I'm not in before midway through september, this whole magic quill thing was BS.

Yep, they've solidified their million people, and are staggering access in. like i said above, there's like a little over 100,000 people in so far (allegedly). The emails they send out giving access are through completely random selection; I've heard some people who did the challenge on Day 7 are in, and I'm not, when I did it on Day 3. Not cool.

And Evanna Lynnch (Luna) is in, and got sorted into Gryffindor, she was talking so much about it on Twitter . Pretty interesting. God, I hope I'm a Hufflepuff.

And Evanna Lynnch (Luna) is in, and got sorted into Gryffindor, she was talking so much about it on Twitter . Pretty interesting. God, I hope I'm a Hufflepuff.

gee, I can't help but wonder if Lynch was in just as much of a random selection as everyone else It'll be interesting to see how much else of the cast and crew bothers getting into the site.
why do you want to be hufflepuff?

Yeah seeing where the cast would be, that'll be awesome if that happens!

And well, I've often asked myself that. The stereotype for Hufflepuff, as all fans know, is the "loser house," but they're really described as fair, honest, loyal, and hardworking. I personally identify very well with all of those attributes. I'm just a pretty chill and modest person I think there's a little of each house in everyone, but I've always identified the most with Hufflepuff. But if I'm in a different house, I could understand why.

Plus, Prof. Sprout, Cedric, Tonks, Ernie Macmillan (holla!) were in Hufflepuff. AND even Jo herself has said she'd be a Hufflepuff!

haha, this all makes sense, even tho I've never heard someone say they'd want HP. Honestly, I hope I'm Slytherin.

What exactly is Pottermore? Sounds pretty awesome.

If school wasn't so dang hard () I would read through the series again.

It's an online interactive reading experience gauged directly toward fans, all overseen by Jo. There's loads of new backstory and information about all of the books written by her (eventually, only Philosopher's Stone is available at the moment). There's also small games and activities to do, as well as buying a wand and getting sorted (with questions made by Rowling herself!), and you progress through the books, unlocking new experiences and material along the way. There's also the availability to upload fan artwork, as well as the ability to download HP eBooks for the first time.

    So yeah, it's pretty awesome
